Any suggestions here would be nice.

My diet has been ok for the most part.

Same here. Been fighting it for 13 yrs. Been off abx for most of the past 9 yrs. Still battling it.

I hope you are on heavy duty probiotics.

I can't believe how bad my gut is now either, after going off antibiotics in January. Did not seem this bad at all while on them,

and I thought I did a good job (high probiotics, good diet)

I started up Diflucan again, and have been working on parasites at the same time, big die off.

And, I cannot believe how strict I have to be with the yeast diet.

Looks like this can be not so unusual, according to one of TuTu's links :-/

--------------------
Lyme positive PCR blood, and
positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,
doing okay!

Maybe this is why I can't believe most here do not have ongoing yeast. I know in my heart they will crash later like I did.

I HOPE they don't, but the odds are not in their favor... esp if diet has not been good.

I blamed my crash on the fact that I took the &^$# PB8 while on treatment for Lyme. It was NOT even CLOSE to being strong enough.

When I saw my new LLMD this week, they said something interesting - they felt that the yeast overgrowth was going to go on to "protect" my body from the metals overload (I have many mercury amalgams).

Obviously, being on abx right now just adds to the yeast burden.

So, I continue with the yeast diet, take nystatin, diflucan, etc. to try to keep it at bay, but that the real victory would be possible once I chelated and had the amalgams removed.

That is true.

I no longer have amalgams, but my metals are probably not cleared.

I've never had an amalgam, haven't had a vaccine in over 40 years, and did 2 tests for heavy metals

while chelating my daughter- both came out 'normal.'
Even did trial chelation on myself- nothing.

However- I have decades of not treating my digestive system well, and having a unhealthy diet- stressful career, diet sodas daily, skinny, sugar, etc.

So, I came in to Lyme treatment (antibiotics) with a well established systemic candida/ fungal infection.

But, having said all that....

What I wonder is: will this be for life? Will I never get to eat like a 'normal' person? When my stepmom bakes me gluten free

cookies when visiting, I'm going to have to pass... ice cream, etc. constantly on the watch?

I'm starting to think so, and that's sad.
Could be worse, I know. But I think my digestive track is compromised here for the long haul now, it seems.

The yeast, bloating, stomach pains come back so quickly if not diligent.

The LLNP that I'm seeing said most people who have been treated for lyme have candida as well, they just don't know it. She said I was lucky as mine showed up in testing whereas for most it does not.

That is true, Ellen.. testing is nearly worthless.

I had yeast going into Lyme treatment too. I watched my diet carefully and took Nystatin the whole time. I also took Diflucan as needed.

I was able to cheat off and on for years, then some idiot GI Dr gave me abx for what he THOUGHT was SIBO. Turns out it was yeast in disguise.

I've been in terrible shape ever since and that was 2 1/2 yrs ago.

I had one doctor tell me that if you cured the candida the lyme would go away. Doctors really dont know anything.
