My thanks to Nefferdum for posting about the low fat diet for Protomyxzoa, otherwise known as the "Fry bug" or BLO.

One of my doctors had recommended a HIGH fat, ketogenic diet for my seizures. Well, I started out with that.......and seizure city! UGH!!!

Thanks to Nefferdum's post, I recognized what had gone wrong, and cut way, way back on the fat.

I'm feeling more sane every day now.

(I'm also doing other things to handle biofilms, etc.)

Hopefully, this will last more than a few days.

I'm doing more research into fat and diet now.

Thanks again! Lymenet has saved me many times!

Best,

Cass A

Right on! You were one of the lucky ones who was open minded enough to at least try what she said. Very happy you are feeling better! :)

I think many of us have this, and the docs just aren't recognizing it.

Sadly, the KINDS of fats recommended for a HIGH fat, ketogenic diet are not the best kinds of fats either. I've always had been concerned about that aspect of it.

It was suggested that I follow a ketogenic style diet, too, also for seizures. I had to totally revise the advice they gave me with cleaner sources. And I do well with that.

I also approach biofilm from a different angle, with allicin and some other agents.

Cass, I'm sure you also revised the KINDs of fats with the ketogenic approach. Still, glad to know that you are looking at other techniques and other influences regarding the overall diagnostics.

Back to a general comment for all households: Too many people (with and without lyme) run a risk with old oils. Even roasted nuts from the store contain old, rancid oils that can damage the lining of blood vessels. Same with anything fried or overheated.

I know most here don't eat fast food but, please, share this with all you love: oils get old fast and then the are very toxic to blood vessels and the heart. Even good oils need to be fresh - detail can be found via web search.

That is a separate issue from the Fry / low fat approach, though.

Still, it's such an individual thing and, as you can see, so many of the seizure doctors don't take into account seizure connections to infections, inflammation, or glutamic acid excitatability.

Glad you are feeling better. Hope you enjoy continued improvement from this shift.

Lyme is certainly not the only infection connection.
