Treating this disease can be so frustrating, and if you can afford an LLMD, that is great.

But many people can't. And some who can afford them, still have trouble getting well.

This article about the Buhner protocal, helps explain the HUGE roll of inflammation and the immune system, which cause this disease to persist.

It also explains the protocal in some detail.

(If you don't want to read about his philosphy, then scroll down to "Buhner Protocal" in which he explains how his protocal works.

http://www.publichealthalert.org/Articles/scottforsgren/Buhner.htm

Stephen Buhner also has a website with a revised version of his protocal, including a powerful treatment for Bartonella and Mycoplasma.

www.buhnerhealinglyme.com

There are support groups for his protocal. (at top of page of his website, click on "ask a question" for info about the support groups.)

**An added plus is that his protocal can be used along with any being prescibed by your LLMD. Hopefully your LLMD as an open mind.

And, of course, this protocal can be used by itself.

P.S. I use some of his herbs along with the treatment from my LLMD and think it is much more effective that way.

Buhner also states in his book that the preferred protocol is antibiotics PLUS the herbal protocol.

Usually, it takes antibiotics to knock out most of the infections and then followup with the herbal for maintenance.

Don't ever underestimate the ferocity of Lyme Disease.

i agree...for those who cant afford or tolerate abx he has a really good protocol. he is very smart-writes in an easy to understand way...but it is very complicated and a very sick person might need help following thru

also good after abx dont work anymore...maintain with his stuff

Yep, antibiotics plus herbs are powerful.

But the treatments can be so expensive, and many people are ruined financially from treating a different diagnosis that they were given, such as "Chonic Fatigue Syndrome".

So, it is good that there is something affordable that people can do until, hopefully, they can get on their feet again financially.

And for many people, this protocal works just fine.

We are all different.

<<<<< Rivendell >>>>>,

Thanks for the info' links! TxCoord and I are doing my treatments out of pocket [no insurance],and I cannot use most ABX anymore.

I need to get the new Buhner books when we can ...but right now I have been on what i can afford of his supplement protocol.

It is helpful, don't know what i'd do w/o his protocol info'.

Jus' Silverwolfi here!
