I'm not used to getting sick on top of my usual lyme etc... sx. I woke up yesterday with a really sore throat, sweaty, congested.

I barely slept last night because so much gunk is coming out of my nose and I am all achey.

Anything I can do besides taking Vit C and drink plenty of water??

I work in the healthcare field with patients who have complex medical issues and I'm surprised I haven't really gotten sick before?

Argh.

Immune system is taxed.

Vitamin C and rest are the best bets.

A neti pot with sea salt water (measurements on the pot instructions) to flush the mucus out. Don't overpressure the neti so your ears pop. That is very bad for your ears.

Gargle with a drop of oregano oil in a mouthful of water.

Too spicy if you have GERD though.

My brain is still bad today. Not too good at wordfinding.

Best

I agree with Greta - the neti pot is an amazing thing for congestion. Just let it run through your passageways by gravity

A strep test might be in order for the throat. Otherwise:

to help relieve sore throat -- LDM-100 (lomatium) always comes to my rescue. I get it from Barlow herb. I've tried other brands and find the LDM-100 is the best. The others just have not worked nearly as well for me.

Be sure if you use a Neti pot that the water has been boiled and cooled enough - and that the pot has been cleaned well just before adding water. There is risk if the water or the pot are not clean enough.

Good luck.

My throat isn't as bad today...seems like when I'd get bad colds before I got sick with lyme etc...?

I frequently use a sinus rinse and always boil the water first, yes!

I feel like crap ugh. It's all in my sinuses now.
