Brought DS to ART doctor yesterday and he says his problems are all because of detox.
Says infections are way down so that's not why he's no better.
I will say that since the 4 years we've been treating he really hasn't been doing the detox like I read about.
First 3 LLMDs never had us give him anything, his current LLMD has but nothing like I read about or long term and constant.
ART doc says he's full of biotoxins.
Gave us a bunch of stuff to start him on along with present abx/supps. Says to stay on all previous stuff but add in his detox program.
Went so far as to suggest going to Germany to have this thing done to detox that would replace 2 years of doing it this way. Obviously that's not going to happen.
So...do you really think this can all be because of him not detoxing? Could this really be making him mentally disabled?
We are doing what he says...tried everything else.
Did like the doctor, certainly seems to know his stuff.
Go back in 3 weeks for some type of injections in the stomach for detoxing...anyone heard about this?
Any info or opinions is welcomed.

What has your son been using up till now, abx?
I'm not surprised about the biotoxins. I know from trying to get rid of heavy metals that if it's not done right, the metals re deposit in the brain. Detoxing is major, and is even more difficult for people with MTHFR. Has he been tested for this? Also gene mutations can affect the ability to detox too.
My experience with an ART practitioner (mine was avg) was that they, for the most part, treat whatever pops up that day. That's where your main issue is at that particular point in time. I love this, but it misses underlying stuff--at least it has on me. Even some stuff that needed treating.
This is where tests are helpful, especially gene related, as well as methylation issues, minerals etc. I feel like it's good to have some underlying knowledge of your body, especially when it comes to detoxing or missing minerals, etc.
I don't know anything about the stomach injections, but a good ART doc knows about detoxing (listen to his doc).
I would listen to his ART doc and detox like crazy. I also suggest getting some methyl panel/gene testing done (at least check for MTHFR and I highly recommend 23&me, then genetic genie (run this after 23&me test). You can order the 23 and me testing yourself (methyl panel too). I haven't done the full methyl panel yet ($$), but it looks great.
Aside from all of this, did he like the ART (I did)?

I definitely believe it, when I over-treat my regulation gets blocked from the biotoxins. The only way to see it is trough ART, otherwise you would think that you feel bad from the infection and continue to kill and become even more sick.
The only thing is that you have to trust this ART practitioner. How did you found this one? does he follow DR. K. methods?

My DS is completely mentally disabled and doesn't speak so I can't ask any questions. He can't answer.
He has tested positive for A1298c mutation.
I did buy the 23andme test but he can't spit so we've haven't done it yet.
Yes, he speaks of Dr. K. by 1st name and trained under him. Been dong this for over 20 years.
I've decided to give it 3 months and see how it goes.
We see a well known LLMD, next appt. in 2 weeks. will go over all this with them at that appt.

Poor kid. No wonder he can't detox. I have one copy and still have issues detoxing. Ondamed is helping me with this, lyme and whatever pops up (no good ART doc near me).
Can you collect some drool in the am? Anything you get will help. Maybe call 23&me and ask for some advice.
Keep us posted.
