I'm feeling a little bit hypochondriac with this... but...
I'm panicking over a pain in my cervix right now. (Or where I imagine my cervix to be).
I'm not PMS'ing and I am up to date with paps... so as of a few months ago, that was normal.
Can ovulation cause pain there? (I think I ovulated yesterday/day before). But the cramping is not in my abdomen or pelvis, it's deeper and much lower...
I hate odd pains that don't belong. Especially since I take Celebrex twice daily - I always think - if I feel it, it's overpowering the Celebrex and would be worse if I wasn't on it!
Am I just being paranoid?

Maybe a call to your physician is in order? It's probably nothing, BUT I don't think you are being paranoid.
Any type of pain should be addressed somehow - especially a new one that seems to be pretty painful for you.
Being close to ovulation may be a clue, as well.

I know what you mean about the pain. Does it almost feel like it is lower than the uterus?
I get this pain sometimes. I don't know what causes it.
Sometimes if I have the runs, the day after I have pain in the cervix area. I think the intestinal cramps move things around.
Also sometimes the day after sex, there will be some cervix pain.
Ovulation pain is normally higher up, and to one side. (at least it is for me). And if I press hard on my abdomen, above the ovary, the pain will echo long after I stop pressing.
Also, endo bugs me, sometimes causes pain in my rectum, which is similar to cervix pain.
I hope this makes sense. I know what you mean about taking an NSAID and still having pain...it is worrisome.
If you have any other symptoms pop up, can you see a gyno? Also, if you have an IUD and this pain, then you need to see a gyno ASAP.
I hope it goes away soon, and you feel better. Greta

Ladies, thanks! I think after the holidays I will follow up with my gyn.
Greta - no IUD. But I have had this exact same pain in the rectum in the past as well!!!
I'll ask my gyn about endo... I had my son 11 years ago and other than pap tests (all always normal, thankfully), I've never really had anything checked out in depth there... so I may have endo and not even know it!
It could be a high possibility if it's hereditary b/c I have other family members with it - an aunt had it really bad, several surgeries.
I don't know if my mother has it, but she has a tipped uterus and other issues there too.
Fortunately none life threatening.
The pain is now gone... but it was there most of the day.
I'll call after Thanksgiving... a checkup won't hurt!

I do have problems with cystitis and bladder spasms... I wonder if the pain radiates from that!!
