My new LLMD has prescribed Welchol (twice daily) along with two antibiotics and lots of supplements.
I always thought that Welchol needed to be taken separately-- away from everything -- but my doc says:
"Welchol binds cholesterol and certain toxins. It may also bind to fat soluable vitamins like A,D,E. It doesn’t have much impact on antibiotics and many other medications which can be taken with it."
Has anyone else's LLMD told them that they could take Welchol with other meds? I'd hate to put myself through the torture of antibiotics, only to not have them be absorbed.
Thanks!
