Anyone been on Keflex as part of chronic lyme treatment? The doc took me off clindamycin and wants me to try Keflex, said it was in the same family as Ceftin.
At first she wanted to try Rifabutin, which I am having to go through a compound pharm to get the dose she wanted and clindy but switched from clindy to Keflex..Yes, this was my LLMD.
Will try, I guess.

It's my LLMD's favorite Lyme drug, but I haven't been able to get it at any pharmacy in the DC area. My daughter had the same problem recently in Massachusetts.

Marypart, did I understand correctly that Keflex is you LLMD's favorite lyme drug? Hope so, I did try it and 3 hrs after I took it I threw up but starting at a smaller dose and hoping that doesn't happen this time.
Hope you can be able to get it soon. I haven't gotten mine yet but the pharmcy hasn't called saying they didn't have it. Will get it tom and let you know.

I have read that keflex is not the antibiotic for lyme but is good for bart. So far so good except for some herxing. The doc said Keflex is good for lyme a cousin to ceftin and some are responding with this drug.
The best part is it only cost me 24 dollars for a month supply. 1000 mg a day but haven't worked up to that much yet.
I will ask once again has anyone tried it? tks

I'm so sorry! I misread your post! I thought it said "Ketek" not "Keflex."
Ketek is my LLMD's favorite Lyme drug, but it's currently unavailable in my area. It's getting hard to find.
I've had great luck with Keflex for sinus infections, but I don't know about Lyme.
Sorry about the error!
