Quite a few people take these two as their main antimicrobials (Marty Ross is one doctor who uses them) and many more take them as the first pair of antimicrobials on the Cowden Support Program.
Dr Sapi did some research looking at cyst formation in vitro in response to Doxycycline in comparison to S and B.

The samento & banderol I am taking is by Nutramedix and I bought it in the extract form, which is easy to use.
I did not price-compare, but I got them from pureformulas.com and they have a March special on all meds, use coupon code "TAKE10", and shipping is always free.
First I got the capsules of Samento, but since the extracts probably assimilate quicker into your system, I changed to the extract when I added the banderol extract.
It is recommended to start with a lower dosage than the suggested extract dose on bottle, because if you have a heavy load of Bb, a lot of people hertz.
I did not hertz, but my symptoms are now mild, so think my Bb load is low, too. I take the full suggested dose of each.
Samento has a natural antibiotic in the quinolone family in it. Banderol is supposed to make samento 4x more effective. They have to be taken (per bottle) on empty stomach, and separated by some time.
It is on Dr.C's protocol for checking any dosages/timing, but I got my info on effectiveness from a clinical study in which 85% of patients taking samento (not combo)got to neg testing for Bb in 6 months, and the rest improved, too. The controls did not improve.

I was on them for several months a year ago and did not seem to have much success. However now that my bacterial load is much lower, per my symptoms, it may be time to add them back in. I do take the Cumanda and Pinela.
All the Best, MattH
