My doctor makes all his patients take NAC to protect the liver and kidneys whilst on antibiotics.

I take 3 x 600mg capsules per day. I get the Life Extension brand on herb.com.

NAC can cause heartburn so take it with food and make sure to drink with plenty of water as in some people it can cause kidney stones.

My Dr. put me on NAC and Alpha Lipoic Acid at my first appointment for detox.

I've noticed that the ALA causes my urine to smell like when I eat asparagus and also foul smelling gas. Wonder if that's part of the detox??
