I need my right knee replaced badly. Bone on bone, and getting worse. My lyme & co's are very stable on meds now.

But my LLMD recommends putting off ALL surgeries until treatment is finished, but I can't wait that long. My quality of life would be far better if I could walk and exercise. Do I wait or get it done now?

I'm trying to weight the pros and cons. I really want to get my knee done but I'm (of course) fearful my lyme will explode again.

Do realize that most replacements only last 10 yrs .. 15 max. So are you willing to do another one on the same joint in 15 yrs?

I would think LONG and HARD about that.

I waited ten yrs after they said i was bone on bone. I needed a lot of good quality cosamine and ibuprofen

I had both done and was very happy. In 3 months i was riding horses after not being able to ride for ten yrs

But i overdid it...also had a few falls but tey didnt affect the kneesand after 7 yrs needed both replaced. I got one replaced...its called a revision and is a much harder surgery...im 7 months post surg and not doing that well. I cant imagine having the other done. The most important thing is to research and get the very best doc you can to do the surg

Pls consider finding a good doctor (ND, DO, healers, etc.) and:

- long term natural antbx (herbals, essential oils, etc.)
- detoxing
- enzymes
- other modalities
- restoring gut health
