The Spirochaetal Alzheimer's Association (SAA) is a new organisation, established to promote awareness of the links between Alzheimer's Disease and infection with Borrelia and other spirochaetal bacteria.
Borreliae cause serious disease such as Relapsing Fever and Lyme Disease. American researcher Dr Alan MacDonald has repeatedly found evidence of this microbe in the autopsied brains of victims of Alzheimer's Disease, most recently using cutting-edge molecular biology techniques. Swiss scientist Dr Judith Miklossy confirmed these findings and also detected oral spirochaetes, normally associated with dental infection.
Because such infections are treatable, the potential implications of this research are enormous.
The Spirochaetal Alzheimer's Association is delighted to announce that Dr Alan MacDonald has agreed to be our Patron, and will be speaking on the Borrelia-Alzheimer's link at a meeting in London, England this June (date to be confirmed). The meeting will be open to doctors, researchers, patients and their families, and the interested public.
We also hope to launch an informational website, and a petition asking the Dept. of Health to make the important research findings available to the medical profession and the public as a priority. Please contact us immediately if you would like to attend the meeting with Dr MacDonald, and/or would like to volunteer to help make this event a success. All help is appreciated, however small. If you are unable to spare any time, perhaps you would consider a financial donation towards the costs of holding the event.
We particularly welcome people who are able to help with the following: *media/publicity *stewarding the event/welcoming attendees *volunteer drivers to help ensure people with mobility problems can attend *fund-raising to pay for hall, advertisement etc. *leaflet and/or web design
If you are able to help with any of the above, and/or would like to register your interest in attending the event, please contact us immediately by emailing [email protected] Please circulate this message widely. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Bravo thank God some one took the Spirochete by the Tail. I would love to help. How did you get this funded?

If this group's goal is to prove the relationship between Bb and AD, they need to be aware of the relationship between Bb and Candida (co-infected) AND the relationship between DDT (pesticide exposure) and APOE4/4 as it pertains to AD.
AD as the result of DDT (toxic pesticide) + APOE4/4 gene type
OR AD as the result of a Candida infection that crossed the BBB
OR AD as the result of a combined Candida-Bb infection...both of which crossed the BBB.
Worse case = all three i.e., one toxin and a dual infection.
I'm not sure if you mean the group with the name "LymeNet Europe" (see below) or European Lyme forums in general?
The Spirochaetal Alzheimer's Association is based in Britain, but as dementia is global in scope, there's no reason why international branches shouldn't be formed, once it gets up and running properly, IMHO.
There is a meeting on 4 June with Dr Alan Macdonald speaking here in London, but there's no reason why similar events could not be arranged elsewhere, as well as other activities to promote awareness of this vital information.
Re "LymeNet Europe". Despite the fact that there are some very good people participating there (including Dr MacD himself), the actual forum is a **front** set up by the Denialists in order to manipulate the Lyme movement.
I have written a satirical take on what is going on there on my blog (see URL below), but it is a serious issue - they actually do a lot of damage by fooling people into thinking they are genuine Lyme patients.
They also regularly sling the most hateful libel at our good doctors, including Dr Macdonald and Dr Sapi, whilst using the moderators' privilege to exclude only against those on our side.

Yes, I agree, it is like quackwatch in respect to lyme treatment.
Peter,
Please let us know when the website is up and running. I read a while back that of 26 alz brain autopsies in US New England endemic area, 25 had lyme spirochetes found.
Would be interested in donating if they have a US event.

BTW...IDO is upregulated in MS too...HERV-W = retroviral protein triggered. The "W" = tryptophan.
Google: tryptophan. Find the Wikipedia link. Find the picture of tryptophan metabolism....to melatonin and niacin. Make it bigger, cut, paste it into a MS word file and print it out to study.
The conversion to niacin involves the enzyme, IDO.
BBR increases the NAD+/NADH ratio...cells are being "starved of" NAD.
Block upstream IDO via berberine chloride (Glycox). Throw in Diflucan to also knock out *resistant* Candida.
