I am lost, dont want to be like this any longer, if it wasnt for the brain fog, head aches, eye pain, vision problems, overall feeling like im in a dream state.

I dont think it would be that bad. Give me aches and pains any day, mess with me mind, and Im screwed.

I can deal with the stiff neck, lower back pain, joints aching, joints popping, joint cracking, skin burning, shoulder pain etc.

I am just lost, I am been dealing with these problems for years, and doctors told me it was anxiety. Till the point my health was extreamly compromised, then I took my health into my own hands. Found doctors that would listen, I hate the medical field so much. I cant believe anyone has to go through this type of pain, when there is no need.

Hang in there, buddy! I'm sure we're all (rightfully) disillusioned with the medical system.

When you're at the bottom of the trench, it's hard to have any perspective on the good things in the world. As your health improves, you will remember how to find joy in life again!

If commiseration helps you:
I've gone from a high functioning, fun-loving, fearless athletic doc to a physical, mental, emotional (and financial) wreck within a year - even though I had tick borne illness on my personal differential. I couldn't get support, diagnosis or treatment in my area and totally underestimated / was ignorant of the neuropsychiatric aspects of these infections.

Just recently I started seeing results from treatment, and emotionally I feel like I'm waking up from visiting a stranger's body.

It'll get better!

Bart is the pits. I think it is by far the worst infection because it leaves you feeling like a zombie - and a stupid one at that. Just hang in there and keep taking your medication.

If you don't improve in a month or two, try another drug combo. We have to find out what works for us. You should be able to get it under control in a few months although it can take a year to actually get rid of it completely.

Since you also have heavy metals, something that works well for that, as well as the biofilm that protects bartonella, is liposomal EDTA. The liposome acts like a Trojan Horse to get the EDTA into the biofilm, where it is released.

EDTA is easy to tolerate and binds with heavy metals first. If it binds with a mineral and then comes across a metal, it will exchange it. When the metals are under control, it binds with the iron and magnesium in the biofilm and it weakens the pathogens. This was very helpful to my recovery. The metals weaken you and strengthen the pathogens.

I know what you mean about doctors. They disgust me too. I treat myself now because I gave up on them.

Bartonella is a beast!

I treated it once, was good for about 5 months and relapsed.

Honestly, bart treatment helps so much.

It did get worse before it got better, with me. And the relapse has been about 20% of how bad it was the first time around.

I just want you to know that I feel for what you are going through. Bartonella head pain is excrutiating, the mood swings, insomnia and stomach issues just add to everything to make it real nasty.

But it CAN get better with treatment. The trick is to find the best antibiotic combo that works for you.

Most docs say 2 intracellular antibioics are needed, plus another bacteriostatic antibiotic is also used as well.

I use abx but also am getting quite a bit of help from a tincture blend called CSA (cryptolepsis, sida acuta and alchornea).

Hang in there, it gets better with time.

I also have lost years and quality of life to misdiagnoses. I trust my LL and my GP, and honestly that's it.

I am currently on Rifampin and a-Bart, I want to talk to the doctor on Tuesday to see if they think I should add a second antibiotic.

Our daughter had the most improvements on Rifampin and Minocycline.

Hang in there, it took about 8 weeks before we noticed some improvements for our daughter.

It might be sooner in you and others as we slowly worked up to full dose of Rifampin.

Good luck

With doxycycline I had no side effects, even at 400 mg a day. With rifampin 600 mg a day, no side effects. When I increase in a-Bart I get headaches big time.

The A-Bart must be helping. I don't notice anything from it myself. Usually you do use two abx to treat bart. Maybe you could add back the doxy when things settle down. You don't want to overwhelm yourself.
