Hello, all. I hope that everyone is making strides towards health.

I've been contemplating the idea of purchasing an Amethyst Biomat. I can't rely on exercise -obviously!- to promote sweating (for that form of the body's toxin removal process, anyways), nor can I safely use any type of traditional far infrared therapy (the heat causes further disruption to both my body's tissues and dysfunctional autonomic nervous system).

Rather than go the route of a 'heads out' (cutout for head) sauna, I'd prefer the option of said Biomat.

Might anyone be willing to share their experiences with said mat, especially recommendations as to trustworthy vendors who carry them? I'm most interested in hearing about the best place to obtain an Amethyst Biomat.

Many thanks in advance for your helpful responses!

Has no one used one of these? Perhaps not, I guess.

I used one for 6 months once a week. I lay on it in my sleeping bag to hold the heat in. It took me an hour to sweat. After 6 months, suddenly I wasn't as sensitive to chemical smells like bleach, perfume, smoking, etc,

My doctor explained that I sweated out enough toxins to get below a threshold where my liver was finally able to handle the daily incoming load. He knew it would happen and told me just to keep doing it even if I wasn't seeing results.

I switched to a portable tent which cut down the time, since it heated me up more quickly. I could now sweat sometimes in a half hour.

What confuses me about your post is that I sweated in both the mat and tent situations. You said you don't like heat, yet both involve heating up for detox sweating.

Now you can just lie on it for negative ion exposure. But that's different than sweating for detox purposes.

I'm pming you -

Robin-

Thanks for your message! I've sent you a response.

To clarify, a bit...although the heat is a challenge for me, it is something that I can and must work through to sweat out the crud.

At this time, it is much easier for me to be in a resting position as I receive the heat benefit (also- while not being fully enclosed in a FIR sauna-delivery unit).

Many thanks!

Hi. I used one through the worst of my treatment. It helped a lot of my pain but made some pain worse (my feet). I rarely sweated. But did a little if I rolled over on my stomach. I do fe it helped the abx go deeper.

And it I believed I detoxes some cause while using it I got a series of rashes... But unlike my normal rashes they only lasted a day... I saw this as something purging.

Mostly though, I believe it was comforting, and gave me a purpose with something I could do for myself.

I decided to sell mine after 8 months as I was not using it as much... And it was taking up the bed in our guest room. And llmd costs made me feel poor.

The professional size It is very heavy and not easily taken from room to room. If you want to use it while relaxing, reading, watching tv I would get the mini. It is not as thorough, but I bet you'll use it more.

About where to buy.... I bought through someone I met here. When I went to try and return it or sell it she sent me to her sponsor (it is kind of a pyramid structure).

But I was so impressed with Chris Pine at crystal healing arts...I always suggest them. I was well beyond my 60 day trial. But he took the biomat back for just $50 more than what he could sell it for.

There was such an honesty and belief in their product that he had no hesitance in taking it back (I also took really good care of it) all I all I used it for 8 or 9 months for a cost after the return of about $150.

It got me through a bad time, and now I hope is helping someone else (and selling it back helped me keep seeing an llmd). So I have no hesitation reccomending this vendor.

Since returning it... I got a much less expensive fir heating pad by therasage. It is not nearly as well made or elegant..the controls are funky and sometimes need work arounds...

But I find the heat just as soothing and as deep... And in fact I sweat more from it. And it is more flexible and comfortable. It uses smooth jade disks that heat up.

On both the biomat and the therasage fir pads, I am not sure of any of the claims.... But they feel good. And I do believe both heat you deeper than a regular heating pad.

Hope this review

Kudzuslipper-

I also really appreciate your great feedback about the experience using the Biomat!

I'm glad that it brought you a level of genuine helpfulness, which is honestly what I'm finding as I hear different testimonials here and there.

I especially thank you for your generosity in sharing the name of a trusted source of the Biomat with me, as I do with letting me know your opinion on the nuances with the professional vs. mini size of the product. I also respect the fact that you were frank in touching on costs (being sensitive to the fact that LLMD visits and treatment are $ already). It's great to get an opinion on the less expensive Therasage product as well...I had seen that, also, and was wondering about its effectiveness.

A really helpful post, and again, a big thanks for taking time out of your day to share with a fellow tbd pal.

Best to you,
Told you...

I used one, too. It's an excellent product. It will help with detox, relax your muscles and it feels really good on a stiff achey body but it's an adjunct modality. It's not going to cure you, it's just another tool in the chest to help you get through and move toward wellness.

Abxnomore-

Thank you for your post. It's nice to know that another seasoned LN poster has found reliability with this product. Sick for many decades before actually joining this on-line Forum, at this point, every therapeutic measure that I take I view as merely 'one other tool in my kit' (as you pointed out). My hope is that all of the tools together will lead to improved physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

I definitely now look forward to getting my hands on one of these Biomats, and as such, I think that Christmas or my late-winter birthday (will occur next in early '15), may just have to come a little early this time around!

Thanks a ton, Abxnomore!!!

Thanks to you, jarjar!

Admittedly, my impulsivity had me jumping to post before conducting many searches (although I did look at the product and associated video on what appeared to be an old-school link).

Thanks for chiming in that there's helpful info. on the Biomat to be had within older posts here on LN.

Be well,
Told you...
