I am pretty sure I am having a diverticulitis flare. I will be asking the dr for Cipro and flagyl tomorrow. Both of which I have taken before for both Lyme and diverticulitis.

My question is, do I also need to take another abx to kill Lyme bugs wen the cysts bust?

When I took them for Lyme and Bart (for 6 months) I was also on ceftin...

For the past two months I have been treating a Lyme flarre. First with zyth. And now on biaxin. I had been feeling pretty good... But dr did not want to add flagyl yet cause when I first started abx again, I herxed pretty bad...

But maybe my body is saying it is time.

Do I need an additional abx to mop up with the flagyl? Or will the Cipro do that?

those are the gold standards for diverticulitis. I've been on both numerous times until I had mu surgery. usually it's for 10-14 days. just be sure to take plenty of probiotics.

you should be on a semi-liquid diet or if it's really bad, all liquid.

depending on the number of attacks, you may want to consider the surgery. toward the end, I was having attacks almost monthly and the abx stopped working plus I was passing blood alot.

the surgery was very easy. I was in a week and recovery took about 8 weeks. I slept in the guestroom cause ourbed is very high and I couldn't lift myself up.

hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Randi. I have not had an attack for over two/3 years and I don't have a fever.

Just wondering if since I am also treating Lyme if I need ceftin too?
