just wanted to see if anyone is having luck treating the fry bug? i thought i my hve it becuse i have babesia like symptoms which the fry bug shares but i havent responded much to babs treatments. tried ivermectin but only at 3mg a day doses which im reading are low to affect the fry bug. was it hard for those treating it to find a practitioner that would use these high doses?

I took 15mg/day, 5 days on, 2 off, IIRC.

I liked it at first, but the efficacy seemed to wear off pretty quickly.

Tindamax and Flagyl are antiprotozoans. They should work well on Fry Bug. How do you respond to those?

I have protozoa.

Not sure if it means the fry bug and babesia and bartonella. Or just babesia and bartonella.

But ivermectin helped me.

I don't want to write the dose but it was way way higher than 3mg...

Waaaaayyyy.

It helped what I would call "babesia symptoms"
But made my bartonella symptoms worse.

Boxermom is right. Flagyl/tindimax get the protozoa also.

Do you or have you felt better on either of those?

Haven't tried tindamax or flagyl. My doctor says that they are drugs with a lot of side effects and do little in terms of progress with Lyme patients. If I do have this fry bug and I have a positive test in hand, how am I supposed to know where these doctors are who treat it with high doses of ivermectin? After all, that's not a very commmon thing to ask of a Lyme doc.

I would question how good a lyme doc is if he said tini and flagyl dont help get rid of lyme

Those drugs are part of basic protocol with lyme docs i have used and made a big difference for me

Some doctors say they are lyme literate when they arent.

Good luck

Maybe take exerps of dr h book or dr b guidelines to show your doc

Yikes!

Your doc does not sound very lyme literate.

Tinidazole is safer than flagyl.

Every book I've read by lyme literate docs, they use tinidazole or flagyl.

Also, YOUR DOC, should be well versed on the use of ivermectin in lyme patients.

That too is commonly used by properly trained lyme docs.

If your doc is not addressing the cyctic/round bodied forms of lyme with a cyst buster, you need to get the hell out of there ASAP and find a lyme literate (for real) doc.

Wow. I am stunned. Truly stunned. No wonder you aren't getting better.

Zith, Diflucan and Malarone is what I rotate for my protozoan. It's what works for me. Flagyl did not work, and he told me I probably couldn't handle ivermectin.

We all react differently to killing the 'bugs'.... what works for me might not for you.
There are many 'fry bugs' being found, some like what I have are more 'fungal' in nature. All protozoan/parasitic type.

Lyme, Babs, Fry Bug..... Whatever it is, may a treatment be discovered to make us all whole again!
