So I was having a wound that wasn't healing properly after a surgery and the doctor did a culture swab just to make sure it wasn't infected.doc says it wasn't. The wound was near my butt.but he did mention that I had a resistant strain of e.coli which was strange for my age (I'm 26) he said. He said it was probably from taking abx for years for Lyme. Also, I had a uti a few months ago and when the labs came back for the urinalysis it showed what antibiotics I would be sensitive to to use for the uti and there weren't many antibiotics I could take! Does this scare anyone? But what else can we do, right?

I do get concerned about this, but I'm not sure what the solution is. During the year I was off antibiotics and taking teasel root and other herbals, my bacterial count really increased.
Now, I'm back on a high abx regimen, and I'm feeling better. Hopefully, I can find a way to boost my immune system, which is still struggling.
It's a scary but, for me, necessary risk.

It does scare me. The bugs are finding a way to adapt to abx. They are evolving. I can't handle many abx anymore.
There are other things to consider trying: rife, various forms of PEMF, MMS, photons, MHBOT, ART, etc. Also worth seriously considering treating is parasites, they keep people from getting better.

Worries me too. But not treating lyme is pretty dangerous too. I had a uti, treated successfully, but not told anything about testing for which abx might work. Don't know if they checked it.
Then had strep throat, second time in two years. First time, not treated, went on for months, not recognized for what it was and did not see a doctor for it. A year later, did go to urgent care doc, tested positive. Antibiotic prescribed worked well. Don't know if they checked for sensitivity either, or just prescribed the usual one. They did not know my lyme or treatment history and I was on abx for lyme at the time, but not the one they ordered for strep.

Yes, it concerns me as does the fast that I've also become allergic to one abx that I took long term. But I don't think the possibility of difficulty treating a potential future infection is a reason NOT the treat the serious ones I know I have now.

This is why I am glad my doctor doesn't treat with IV antibiotics for longer than 12 weeks. I would not be happy with being on antibiotics for 9 months or more. I just topped out at 6 months total ( oral and IV). I'm on herbs now.
I do get scared about making super bugs in my body, but of course, not as much as lyme scares me.
Also, livestock get sntibiotics on their food everday and people buy antibiotic hand soap...so I feel my body is low on the totem pole here for antibiotic resistance.
