Does 1,000 mg ceftin a day kill borrelia? My current doc had me on doxy 200 mg a day and bactrim ds twice daily, but dropped them .. I figured the more abx the better so i will be asking him. He also put my on fluconazole

Kasey, Ceftin has been a really good antibiotic for me...and one I continue to return to if I have a flare of symptoms after being off antibiotics for awhile.

Also, the dose you mentioned is the one I've been most frequently prescribed. Two things to note: ceftin can be hard on your stomach, so be sure to follow the dose instructions and take on a full stomach.

Also, in the beginning, my ceftin herxes were really nasty. May not affect you the same way, though, but I thought I'd mention it.

Much success to you!

Thanks andie i'm excited to give it a try.

Just upset my doctor dropped the bactrim and doxy.. Which was most likely only stopping bacteria growth. Maybe he doesnt want me to get hit too hard at once, but i thought the doxy and bactrim would be for coinfections
