Just mail a pair of shoes to the IDSA headquarters!

Instructions at the link below.

This is something all tickborne patients can and should do. Make your voices heard.

http://www.themaydayproject.org

On the right of the page click where it says -- Can't attend the protest.

The National Capital Lyme organization is just one of the sponsors of the Mayday Project.

Moderators - if possible please leave this post in medical as many do not go the activism forum.

I love it! And I have just the shoes for them, some old stinky sneakers with no tread left. Just like their tired old guidelines with no tread left.

GREAT IDEA.

This should be in Medical as Bea asked so that it gets the most visibility.

Got those shoes in a box? It costs about $13 for a flat rate box two day priority mail, which comes with tracking, date to be delivered specified. Seems like this is the best bet.

These shoes will put your feet on the ground at the mayday rally at the IDSA HQ. This year we have important reasons to rally there....the guidelines are up for review and so far it looks like they are going to do the same old thing with the same old people. LETS TELL THEM THIS IS WRONG!!!!!!

There's another great suggestion involved in this effort:

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/8/3238

"If mailing is too expensive, mail a letter with a drawing of a pair of shoes. Media will be at the event and we must create a spectacle."

We have two great choices, mail a pair of shoes or send a drawing of a pair. Time is getting short, it must be done today to get there on time.

Someone posted on the Facebook page that she was sending her slippers, since that is all she wears now!!

Can't see why everyone can't join this effort and help make a huge statement. Let's all do it!! [group hug]

I went to the post office today and picked up the $12.65 flat rate priority mail box. If I mail it tomorrow, it will arrive on Friday, May 1!

My hand written letter is done (although may be too long) and I printed off the universal letter to send as well. My shoes are packed and I will head to the post office tomorrow. Praying we will get a good response and it will make a difference!
