Along those lines, wondering what's new with OLE research, I was at PubMed and just noticed this. While it does not use the term "biofilm" the concept is in the same ballpark:
In vitro effects of triterpenic acids from olive leaf extracts on the mitochondrial membrane potential of promastigote stage of Leishmania spp.
Excerpts:
Protozoan diseases, such as leishmaniasis, are a cause of considerable morbidity throughout the world, affecting millions every year. In this study,
two triterpenic acids (maslinic and oleanolic acids) were isolated from Tunisian olive leaf extracts and their in vitro activity
against the promastigotes stage of Leishmania (L.) infantum and Leishmania (L.) amazonensis was investigated. Maslinic acid showed the highest activity . . . .

Sounds promising. Things are going to break on this eventually, we just have to hold on long enough. Don't give up.

I read about the maple syrup recently. You just beat me in posting it.
I think it is probably not worth adding to a treatment protocol at this time. Doubt that just the syrup itself would have enough of the active ingredient to do much good.
