Says you can save 75% on prescriptions. Just wondering if anyone has tried this. Just lost my health insurance so my prescription coverage is up in the air.

Sorry you are having these additional problems. I have not personally used it, but have heard from some who have and they seemed pleased.
My suggestion would be to contact your local pharmacies by phone and ask them if they accept the coupons and what their procedure is for using them. Advice you get here from Georgia or South Dakota residents may not be applicable to your area.

I use a card, but I got it from the state- when I used to be on assistance they gave it to me and it is good for anyone to use for a lifetime! even if you have insurance, it can be used sometimes to pick up some of the extra costs on meds. you can use it at any pharmacy too!
this is called Community Assistance Program Prescription Drug Discount Card.
it says on back "covers entire household with no exceptions, never expires, no deductables, no claims, accepted over 80% of al lpharmacies in US and its territores from national chains to local pharmacy including CVS, Rite-aid, walgreens, kmart, target, weiss, .... on and on ....
I renetly got another one sent to me but I have not used it yet. it is RXrelief. this one claims to give a higher % off of meds than the other card. it says good at over 50,000 US pharmacies. contact them at: www.rxreliefcard.com 1.855.872.2416

Be careful with prescription discount cards. The ones from the state are ok, but many others are scams being used to collect and track people's sensitive medical info.

I have used GoodRx many times when a prescription isn't covered under my son's or my plan.
It basically gives you the med at the wholesale price.

We tried one for a while but I forget what it was called. It was hit or miss, some meds it saved us money and others actually cost more using the card than paying cash. I gave up using it, was too much of a pain trying to drag actual cash prices out of pharmacies after getting the price with the card.
Try googling coupons from the manufacturers themselves. There's a boatload of them out there. That's where we found we could save some real money.
I have insurance but comes with a $3,000 deductible then copays and 20% coinsurance up to $6,000 max out of pocket. As an example, the biggest deal we found was for Nuvigil. I've been taking it for years. We found a coupon earlier this year for up to $500 off the first month then $50 off every month after that (until it goes generic). That first $500 I'd have to pay out of pocket because my deductible but the coupon covered it and as far as insurance is concerned, it still applies to my deductible as if I paid it. After I met my deductible, the copays on Nuvigil were $60/month but now only pay $10/month but the full $60 goes towards my out of pocket expenses. Win win.
That's a rare exception, most coupons we found were for a free month or free 90 days but it depends what you take. Most of my meds are already generics so where it saves us money is my Nuvigil, my kids' ADD meds, and when I was taking Lunesta.
Good luck. Shop around. I'm hesitant to trust those cards.

the cards I listed above are discount cards. not coupons. I am not sure how they really work. I just thought maybe the government had some sort of deal with the pharmacies? but maybe it is just one of those real life deals that no one really tells you about and that only some people know, but is available to everyone!
like buying furniture direct from Virginia from the manufacturere instead of paying for the middle man retailer?? save tons.
this is going to stick in my brain now until I find out. .... maybe taxes pay the diffrence? or maybe like someone said- they want to TRACK us and see what we take?
all I know is it saves me tons of money. one time the bill was $300 and with that card it was only $35.00!!!

interesting, I might hang on to my card just in case. I'd prefer to get a discount through the state though.
I was wary of using it because, nothing is free! Either they buy in bulk and somehow get huge discounts (or like to undercut other pharmacies), or they are getting other information (ie selling yours).
Nothing is free, as they say.
