I know this will probably be moved to another area, but more people will see it here.

If you would like to send me a private message and tell me your opinion on the best doctor in the country, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you

It depends on the treatment you are looking for. For alternative treatment, Dr. J in KS looks interesting. http://hansacenter.com

I don't think you can say any one doctor is the best. Different people need different protocols and often doctors seem to have their favorite protocols, or at least their favorite methods of addressing Lyme. It's not really a one-size-fits-all disease.

I agree - it's a matter of matching the doctor's expertise to the patient's needs, and there is no one size fits all.

My guess is the one most will say is their favorite is the one that cures them.

Haley... I seem to remember very negative comments on that clinic years ago. Maybe you can find info in the archives here?

I don't believe there is any one "best doctor". At this point, all of the ILADS / TBI physicians have their strengths, weaknesses and points of focus.

I will say that in general, avoid "centers" like Hansa or any other place/practitioner that treats "all the chronic illnesses" especially if they claim to cure, or have some special treatment you won't find elsewhere. I've seen many patient reports that these places specialize in taking money from patients desperate to feel well. At best, they have the kind of knowledge that one could get from reading over ILADS guidelines, at worst they peddle dangerous treatments that make other complimentary/experimental/alternative practitioners look bad.

If you have interest in further information, feel free to send me a PM.

Maybe that clinic has gotten better (sierra integrative). I hear amazing things about this place. I know that they were sued a few years back, so maybe that was the negativity.

There is a woman that is here locally that tried a few very good doctors. She went to Sierra Integrative and says that she is 100%. I have seen the pictures of her blood. They do live blood analysis every week.

I think the best lyme doctor is you!!

I'm not kidding. I do think that follow your gut will take you to the right place.

You can go to the best doctors, but if you do not treat yourself too (like you still take Sodas, eat badly, do not move, do not sleep enough), no one can cure you!

When I really think about the problem, I do think only we, the affected people, are the only ones who can really help us.

The rest - medical doctors, treatments, medicine, protocols, devices - is supportive!

I agree Brussels, the treatment starts with us. I have done fairly well listening to my intuition. Still I'd like to get one last push to help me through. I definitely have not reached my current status alone. All along someone, somewhere helped with one piece of the puzzle. If fact one big piece of that puzzle was found here on Lymenet.

I have some idea of what they do at Sierra Medical. I would not fork out as much as most people, but maybe go for a week and get started, then come back with a protocol. The before and after live blood analysis videos are very impressive. That is how they gauge the progress, by live blood every week.

I have a friend that showed me her before and after videos. she says that she is feeling 100%, she had been to some of the best doctors.

Hey Haley, certainly help can always be good. You are the captain of your health and body, and all these professionals, healers, naturopaths, they can help you reach your aim, I agree.

I didn't arrive to put my lyme dormant without help. But I am pretty sure that if I saw myself ONLY as a patient (who only receives treatment coming from outside), I wouldn't be lyme-free today (since 2009).

Great part of the 'job' is putting all together and going for that, with that clear aim in your head.

There are amazing good professionals and intuitive people out there to help us, I do believe that.

Whatever your gut says, just follow it. Even if you make mistakes, at least, you are doing what you feel is best. If you trust another guy's gut, and that doesn't come good, you will always blame THEM.

No one has the full answer for each of us. We're all different.

Only your inner doctor will find your solutions, which may mean, look for help outside, here and then, when necessary!
