My son had positive strep test so I got tested and it came back positive too.

The Dr. Tried to prescribe azith but it has caused chest pain for me in the past.so I got clindamycin instead.

Does clindamycin carry the same cardiac risks as azithromycin?
Does strep go away on its own?

Been off abx so long. Hate to take them.

Some strains of strep can progress very fast and become life threatening. [Muppet creator Jim Henson died from a harsh strain of a strep infection that got bad very fast.]

I can't answer your other questions but about whether to not take medicine and hope "it goes away on its on?" - that's a very dangerous bet.

There are certainly times where Rx can saves lives.

There may be other ways to explore but something quite clearly targeting it should be on board.

Might you happen to have a rife machine (not for a child, I don't think but for yourself).

LDM-100 a brand of Lomation comes to mind but not sure if it's specific to strep. A good naturopathic doctor or detailed web search can tell you more. Hope you find what you need.

LDM-100

If you have a top grade of allicin capsules on hand, or a good colloidal silver, you might study whether those would be possibilities.

It may be safest to take the Rx with very good gut and liver backup. It will be much shorter term than previous Rx lyme treatment, so you may do just fine. This is what I'd do for strep: the Rx with gut and liver protection.

And be very protective of ears for the next couple months.

I would AVOID ibuprofen as that can cause all blood vessels in body (and especially in the kidneys) to constrict. Makes damage from strep / cytokine storm more likely.

I was prescribed pen VK for strep, and it worked. Didn't require long treatment, unlike lyme.

I am allergic to the penicillin family. clindamycin is in the macrolide family like azithromycin so lm hoping all macrolides do not cause chest pain like the zith did.

Be SURE to up the s.boulardii and other probiotics. Clindamycin is THE WORST for causing c.diff.

Mentioned earlier, that the cytokine reaction to infection is one thing that can put some at risk (and how ibuprofen can make that worse), as some liver supports / some antioxidants in general, this can also help moderate that (yet will not replace anti-infective methods):

STINGING NETTLE LEAF (not root) - Links set

The herb, STINGING NETTLE LEAF may serve to compensate for the reaction by calming the the cytokine storm that is often part of a herx reaction - and other infection cytokine reactions, too.

So I only got tested cause my son tested positive. I really thought I was just going to rule it out to put it out of my mind. I do not have a sore throat at all. I do not have a high fever and I feel kinda cruddy as if I have a cold or virus. My sons Dr did say it sounded like he had a virus along with strep. Could I really have it without a sore throat?

I don't think clindamycin is a macrolide.

http://www.answers.com/Q/Is_clindamycin_a_macrolidehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macrolide

I would treat the strep!

Strep does not resolve on its own. The longer you wait, the more unpleasant you may feel. Strep can become dangerous.
Take meds..just my two cents.
Feel better!
