Not sure if any of this has to do with my chronic Lyme, but here goes.. Please offer your thoughts.
I've been managing Lyme for years with occasional mild flare ups.
4 days ago I felt stomach queasy and didn't think too much of it, especially since both kids had been ill the week before with non-specific virus's.
But, within hours, the queasy stomach turned into chills and had whole body shap pains. AND, my fever was 102.9!! My head felt totally congested on one side; like a sinus infection but with vomiting.
Next I went for an appointment and was told that due to the sudden, extreme onset of variety of symptoms, I might have influenza- which made sense to me since I had the flu once before and experienced same symptoms.
Soon my entire neck glands became swollen and very tender to touch. For 4 straight days I could hardly move while in bed, fever, neck, head congestion, and Vomiting and diarrhea continued. Cultures and tests for influenza, strep throat, CBC all negative.
Trying to understand this- doesn't seem like relapse. Just a virus, but my doc is baffled which one. Treating my with antibiotics anyway. My doc knows my Lyme history and agrees as a result my immune system is weakened.
But not sure what my body just spent 4 days going through? My voice is slowly coming back. I get these blizzare episodes once a year (different seasons). Help!Please..
