I am on Rocephin and Tindamax, pulsing the Tindamax three days a week. When I take 500 mg. twice a day I can't sleep at all and feel like I'm going crazy. I have already gone after my husband twice over some problems we are having and I'm not a violent person. I have been on it almost two months and don't want to quit but don't know where this is going. It is making existing anxiety and other issues worse as well. Any advice is appreciated.

Flagyl worked better for me than Tindamax, but I never did get cured in the end.

I had to get off it and I never took it nor Flagyl again. You don't have to take medicines that are so bad for you to get well.

Have you called your doctor to let him/her know? My doctor is very responsive to concerns and can make adjustments between appointments sometimes. Maybe your doctor could make an adjustment. It's worth a call. Hugs.

Change meds! Not worth ruining a relationship and not sleeping for 2 months.

- Ditto to sixgoofykids and the two replies after that, too - not worth it if it clobbers you.
I also simply could not tolerate it. No way. I say there are ALWAYS other ways to approach, always. -

- Mariel,
re: you mood surges
1. could be an ototoxic / adrenal reaction
as this is an ototoxic drug, if you have resulting balance issues, that could make your adrenal all "flight or fight" and you could have surges that would be uncharacteristic of your demeanor.
2. sounds like you may be having a toxic porphyria reaction. Increased toxicity can make our moods fire too easily. Be especially sure to NEVER be low in blood sugar. I can't explain what that means but it's all in here - there is a porphyria thread:

OK if you can't take the cyst busters, then how do you bust the cysts????? Because that seems to be the reason Lyme persists in so many people. Anyone have ideas???

Yes I am pushing through because Rocephin alone won't do it. I have to kill this thing before it kills me. There aren't many aletrnatives to Tindamax that I know of.

I just pulsed my tindamax for the week. I had some kind of wild euphoria occur at 4 AM, couldn't sleep, been this way since. It's nearly noon and I haven't slept.
I feel like this is a good thing in my case, maybe. I haven't felt anything but opposite of euphoria in about a year.
