We made the trip today to middle OH to see Dr D. I was very pleased with our experience. He really listened to her, my son and myself.
He really took time, and explained many things to us. Took the time to look at many areas of concern she had, such as sores in her scalp.
He felt that all the supplements she had been on for a year were all good, but for her, she needs more. Antibiotics will be on board now as well as B12 shots and more supplements
He explained the importance of eating gluten and dairy free.
We will see what the outcome is, but I feel like we got what I prayed for, right before we went in. We got HOPE

My girl is having a really hard time. Nausea, vomiting, no energy to sit up. The abx she started must be what is making her worse. How can you take 100 pills a day while vomiting. Feeling very bummed for her tonight. Just needed to vent. We knew she would get worse, it's just hard to see.

Your poor daughter! I would stop the ABX for now. I know if you call her LLMD, you might not hear from him until Monday, but I would call and report her symptoms.
Herxing should never be this bad. It is also possible that she has caught a virus and her symptoms are related to that. But if she is feeling this poorly, antibiotics will only make her feel worse. She can always start up again after she has stabilized.
Below is some good information on Herxheimer Reactions and how sometimes too much herxing can be harmful, along with some sound advice.

Abx can make people vomit. Is she taking the pills with lots of food?

Take doxy in the MIDDLE of a full meal.. Do not lie down for 45-60 min afterward.

Yes, some antibiotics have this as a side effect. Doxy is one. If she is taking a med that has this side effect, let the doc know that she needs to be put on something else.
Most people can take doxy successfully if they eat half of a full meal, then take the doxy, then eat the rest of the meal.
If this doesn't work for her, then she just can't take doxy.
There are many meds that treat these diseases, so find the ones that she can successfully take.
Vomiting does not sound like a herx. It sounds like a side effect of a medication. Check her meds on line and see.

Thank you all. We will try to get her to eat and sit up. I think we will need to stop everything to get her back to being able to eat.

- Doxycycline cautions:
1. Even autumn or winter sun, even early morning or late afternoon sun can burn. "Doxy burns" can be very rough.
avoid sunlight on your skin (even "bounced" sun - or through a window) even for weeks after stopping doxycycline if you go onto a different antibiotic.
2. Food with doxy is vital to protect stomach. But no dairy. Do not take with any multi minerals, either. The food minerals will lessen the medicine level and make it not as effective.
A substantial meal, in the middle with some food before and after the doxycycline really matters.
Protect stomach but do not take a PPI - proton pump inhibitor (they have some negative effects). take doxy with a substantial snack or meal - in the middle so you've got some food before and after
Avoiding gluten can help with the stomach, too.
3. keep torso as close to upright as possible for at least 30 minutes after doxycycline taken so as to help protect esophagus from the irritation it can cause if lying down.
Depending upon the angle of the particular chair, the most upright position of a recliner MIGHT be okay if you must rest your head or put your feet up, just don't slink down.
PROTECT EARS / HEARING - when taking certain Rx, the ears need protection. Ear plugs with a hair dryer . . . decibel rated muffs with a blender, vacuum, lawn equipment, etc.
Careful around loud music and best to avoid in the ear pods. There is a link in the Liver Support thread that explains why.

To the above list I would add: Keep your head covered in the sun while on doxycycline. Like our skin, our hair roots are vulnerable to being burned. I lost quite a bit of hair before I discovered this.
