I'm 25 years old and two months ago suddenly got attacked by extreme vertigo. This was not typical vertigo where the room was spinning, but in the sense that I felt a constant sense of motion, felt drunk trying to stand on a whobbly boat. I thought I was having a stroke.
Before this happened, I was having migraines twice a week for a month. Those eventually decreased and then I woke up with a stiff neck and could not rotate it to the left.
It later trickled down my arm where my right arm felt tingly, achy, and I had a patch of skin that was extremely sensitive. Once the vertigo came, those symptoms left.
I have been seeing a NUCCA chiropractor who thinks my C1 is putting pressure on my brainstem which would explain the headaches, neck pain, and vertigo. The treatment has been working! But I suddenly got hit again last night feeling extremely dizzy as if someone was tugging me to the left.
On top of this, I feel very emotional, fatigued, have loose bowels almost all the time, and also just got out of the hospital from a 10 hour "flu".
I've always been so healthy and I just don't understand why these things are happening to me. My MRI of my brain is clean except a few white spots which I was told are normal. I have been diagnosed with anxiety, sinus infection, BPPV, and vestibular migraines.
Nobody has actually tested me. I just don't know what to believe anymore and wondering if it sounds like I could have Lyme? And maybe that's why I am having all these different things happen to me.

They told me hyporefusion on mri was normal too...its not...very commen with lyme ...i too have bad vertigo then took a short course of abx to clear ear infection thinking that was it .. and all hell has broken loose....
get to a llmd get a igenix test ..do live blood ,break open cells ,do not stop looking for answers it took me 6 months Id duc said it was a false positive...he would have to treat if it was..

I had no idea. I'm really new to all of this and I just want my life back. I lost my new job and had to move back with my mother because of the extreme dizziness. I've been one her forums and that is where I heard of Lyme. Thank you for the reply.

I had a lot of your same symptoms when I first became sick. I (eventually) had positive tests for Lyme and babesiosis and a clinical diagnosis of bartonella.
I felt like I was tipped over or chronically off balance when I stood up or walked. I also was bumping into things. I had the stiff neck too and my left arm was kind of numb. I had a lot of other things too, including fatigue so severe that I was bedridden. But it is different for everyone.
And oh yes, I did have sinus pain/pressure and was misdiagnosed with a sinus infection at first even though it didn't explain all the other things.
It is good that you are looking into Lyme. Bottom line is that you need to see an LLMD. You can find an LLMD through a local Lyme support group, if there is one, or you can go into the "seeking" forum here and post.
There is nothing worse than feeling terrible and having no answers. But I think you are zeroing in on it.

Hi - this sounds like Lyme. Yes, the C1 vertebra can be affected and cause dizziness. I get my spine adjusted regularly. Also inner ear can do it too.
Once you study about the Lyme spirochetal bacteria and what they can do in the body, you'll understand your symptoms better, as well as treatments.
The bacteria get into the brain early on and inflame it. They also inflame the spinal cord and nerves, especially the cranial nerves that come out to the neck and shoulder and that's why so many of us have pain there.
Treatment occurs in three areas - kill/deter the organisms, detox, and fortify the body. We're all different in how we respond to anything so that's the quest we're on - to find what we respond to well.
Have patience - it'll take a little while. You can study the stickies at the top of Medical, including the Burrascano guidelines.

I just started and am feeling better in a few days.
