So I took one 100mg art and had horrible head pain/depression for about 3 days, then the HORRIBLE insomnia that even heavy sleeping drugs don't touch.

I have some PTSD from last year when I literally didn't sleep for about 1.5 weeks and ended up in the ER. (before knowing I had lyme) They gave me an ambien and I only slept for 3 hrs with that.

Ambien gave me HORRID anxiety, so off that and it took a LONG time before I slept somewhat normal after that.

Since I've struggled with sleep and never really know what I will get, but it hasn't been THIS bad in a long time.

I'm SOO afraid to go through what I've already been through.

I'm thinking it's babs that is causing the crazy insomnia, but how am I going to make it through treatment if 1 100mg tablet of art through me for this much of a loop.

I'm afraid if I have to go through this again, I'm going to have some sort of nervous break down and not make it.

I'm sorry to rant and I guess my question is will this always be an issue as I treat babs? or will some meds be better than others?

I'm so afraid. I hope someone has some hope for me today. I'm sorry to be so dramatic. This one is hard for me.

When I take something that affects me negatively, I drink lots and lots of water to dilute it in my system.

When you're better from this, maybe you should go to an LLMD and have antibiotic treatment for Babesia instead of herbal.

There are some different herbs that Buhner recommends for Babesia. They are tinctures. If you want to try something different once you're over this thing with Art, pm me and I can look them up for you in Buhner's book on Babesia.

Good luck - maybe drinking water and lying down will help.

She has a lyme doc. She is also on doxy, tindimax, and Bactrim. See her posts here:

Don't worry, HW. You can treat babs with just Bactrim right now. You always have to gradually work up to a full protocol, so that is what you have to do now.

Don't even think about taking art again. If you are handling the Bactrim, doxy, and tini, you are doing GREAT!

I will pray that this passes quickly. I agree with flushing out the art with lots of water. I would add fresh squeezed lemon juice to that water. Also, take Alka Seltzer Gold with a squeeze of lemon up to 4 times per day.

In other words, when you get a bad reaction (perhaps a herx), do all of your detox tricks to flush everything out as quickly as possible.

You can do a coffee enema and feel better in 15-20 minutes. They are so worth it.

Thank you everyone. I'm going to detox the best I can. I'm sitting in my sauna. My head feels so crazy.

Taking art was a test to see if babs was in the picture. My test was negative and my dr. Thinks i mostly have bart. Symptoms.

I guess my reaction would mean yes?

What are your thoughts?

Thank you everyone for your support. I hope this passes quickly...

Hugs.

Well, to me the depression is a sign of babs. So, you got it with just one artemesinin capsule.

I would say you have babs.

And, headache is also a babs symptom. Here are 2 quotes from Burrascano about the babs headaches:

"persistent migraine-like headache," (p. 23)

"Headaches can be severe - dull, global (involves the whole head, described like the head is in a vise)." (p.26)

I take it you have not yet started the Bactrim. I would start very slowly with it based on how you reacted to the art.

For the longest time taking art made my thoughts and emotions feel beyond uncontrollable. I wanted to scream, throw things, and I just felt totally nuts on it.

It does hit a lot of things, and it also crosses the BBB. I always tasted a lot of metal when I took it, and finally wondered if it was causing metals to be released (from infection die off), and if the crazy psych sx were from metals specifically affecting the brain (either released there or cross BBB as they move about the body trying to settle).

With that thought I started taking a good bit of chlorella 30-60 minutes before the art. I stopped tasting metal, and stopped having psychotic reactions to artemisinin.

Other treatments hit babs sx for me without causing the crazy reactions.

Binders, flushing, coffee enemas (biggest help for me), and detox all makes a huge difference. The art might be easier after trying other tx first.

Insomnia was truly my worst symptom for so many years, but has improved a lot with proper treatment and lots and lots of detoxing. Hang in there, it does get better.

I agree with the insomnia often being a Babesia symptom. I treated and finally had better sleep. Then stopped treating and the sweats and insomnia came back full force. UGH!

Depression can be from many things, including the excess toxins.

Mostly, I hope you feel better soon little baboon!

Oh thank you my friends. I slept better last night. I've been on bactrim for quite a while now.

I noticed the most help with my head when taking high doses, but High doses made me super nauseated.

Imy going to try all detox methods I know.

Mostly thank you for the love and support. I wouldn't make it without each of you!
