Just a heads up in case your lab is not doing the C4A test correctly.
I had wildly different test results that did not correlate with treatment response.
When I contacted the lab, they were not doing the test correctly,
resulting in false elevation of the C4A.
The blood must be drawn into a lavender top tube, then spun WITHIN A HALF HOUR to obtain plasma,
and then FROZEN. The plasma must be frozen as quickly as possible,
and it must be SHIPPED FROZEN with DRY ICE to National Jewish Lab.
The lab was not spinning the sample within a half hour,
and was not freezing the plasma after the blood was drawn,
resulting in wildly elevated C4A levels.
If you have a C4A test done, it would be wise to make sure the lab is doing the test correctly.
