I take around 17 pills a day between antibiotics and supplements. I'm not confident that I'm taking them appropriately.

1. If the bottle says to "take twice daily"- does that mean to take two at a time or take 1 now and 1 later?

2. Can I take an antibiotic (with food always) at the same time that I take a supplement. (Ie- ceftin and pregnenalone, minocycline with b12)

3. Can I take an antibiotic at the same time as a probiotic?

1. Take ONE twice a day.

2. Usually yes. (ask your doctor)

3. NO .. At least give the probiotic a chance to overcome the killing action of the ANTI-biotic by taking it two hours away from the antibiotic.

Hope that helps! [Smile]

Talking to a purist (naturalist) recently on taking meds and she said to NOT take supplements with RX meds.

I didn't think it mattered and always took them together, but when I tried it her way it actually did work better.

I surprised that I noticed a big difference.

Go figure.

Oh, and I am taking the supplements first with a little yogurt, then waiting about an hour or two and eating a little more, then taking the RX meds.

Taking all supplements (one dose only) in the morning to prevent anything from keeping me awake at night. That helps too.

This is suggesting that you take whatever amount now and whatever amount later, so, two separate times during the day to take one or more. That phrase by itself is not giving an opinion on how many should be taken. (For example, if you take 3 with breakfast and 3 with dinner, you are also taking twice daily.)
