Perhaps you can wait and see for a bit. But, if you get any more sores or any fever or any of the other symptoms, then jump on it and stop Bactrim, call your doc, or visit an ER.

Thanks TF. I only have 1 sore on my gums. Nothing on my lips/mouth, no fever or rash. I think the sore on my gums is starting to go away, so I think I'm going to ride it out another day and if I see any other signs, stop... thank you!

I would STOP Bactrim right now. Go see an allergist or a dermatologist. I developed an allergy after taking it for months no problem.
My first sign was a small rash on my arm. It stayed that way - small rash - for a while. I did not connect it to Bactrim because it was just a little rash and I'd been on bactrim for so long w/o problems. My LLMD did not connect it to Bactrim either.
Eventually, the reaction got much worse. I had full body hives with itching and burning and tingling. Thankfully I did not have an anaphylactic reaction, but I could have.
Parts of the rash stuck around for weeks or months. When I finally got to a derm, he took one look at it and said, "oh yes, that's a bactrim rash." Bactrim is notorious for rashes. With a skin sore, that seems related enough that I'd want to get it checked out.
