Hey,

I'm 23 years old and I haven't had a libido in months. Does anyone have ideas as to things that could cause this?

The only thing I can think of that may have caused this is that I used to excessively use my vibrator - for hours at a time until my clit would bleed and I would lose sensation. I stopped using my vibrator in August to let my body heal, but I'm still having this issue.

Also, I started using a DGL licorice supplement (Pure Encapsulations DGL Plus) 4 times a day, but the feedback I keep getting back is that this form of licorice wouldn't cause hormonal problems like normal licorice root extract. If anyone here is an expert about this, though, please chime in. I stopped taking the supplement in December to see if my libido would come back after not taking it, but I still have no libido.

I'm pretty much completely better from Chronic Lyme and Bartonella and loss of libido was never one of my symptoms, so it isn't that.

Hi Victoria, I can't say much about the libido issue but I was using DGL to chase away palpitations and air hunger. Be careful, the DGL causes a potassium depletion which can be dangerous. After a recent ER visit and being told my potassium was low I've since stopped using DGL. It's a shame, really, because I spent a small fortune stocking up on it. I was using the 400mg Natural Factors chewables.

You could ask your homeopath about the homeopathic remedy called Agnus castus for loss of libido from sexual excesses.

Standard Process has a supplement called Symplex F (for females) for ironing the hormones out.

You can always check your adrenals, hormones (saliva testing), thyroid. Chemicals, PCBs, etc can affect your hormones too.
