I had not infused for four weeks before tests.

Hep A antibody test said reactive.
Hep B antibody test said reactive.
Hep B antigen test said nonreactive.
Hep C - both nonreactive

Wondering if antigens disappear if/when infections clear?

My Chem. Panel is good - liver-wise.

Wondering if I had donated antibodies in my system when tested? But only A and B - not C?

Wondering - plasma donors with past Hep. infections are allowed to donate?

TIA.

A lady in our local support group recently posted that she tested positive for Hep B after she had done IVIG.

I'll go back and read her closed FB post and see if there is any other info I can pass along to you.

Pam

Susan, I went and found the rest of her story she posted. She did IVIG weekly for a year. She was tested twice before IVIG and she was negative for Hep B.

At the Mayo Clinic when she got positive Hep B positive result they told her how you get Hep B....unprotected sex and shared needles. She argued that neither applied to her and they just looked at her like "yeah right". Yeah, this sick grandmother had been out drugging it up and doing it with strangers. Goodness!!!!

She Googled and found that you can get positive test if a blood donor had received the hep vaccine. She happened to find this info on Mayo Clinic site.

Hope that bit of info helps you.

Pam

Pam - thanks so much for finding/sharing that info.
Looks like I'll be doing the test again soon.
(taking a few weeks more off IVIG - get donated antibodies out of my system for this and other tests.)
Thanks again!!!
