The LLMD we were seeing started this combination of medications for Lyme.

Positive IgeneX IgM titer; negative co-infections.

Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day
Bactrim DS 1 tab twice a day
Rifampin 600 mg daily

We recently saw a new LLMD who switched the regimen to pulsing Tetracycline 2 weeks on/2 weeks off:

Tetracycline 300 mg twice a day; 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off

After 2 months we are to start Diflucan pulse as well.

I'm curious to know if anyone has had good result with this pulsing regimen.

Tell us how long you were on the first med combo. That is very relevant.

I know an excellent doctor who does the 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off approach near the END of lyme treatment. (Not sure what meds he uses.)

He treats the patient continuously (daily meds) until the patient is near the end of treatment and has great results.

Is that your case?

No but just started one based on Lewis (Northeastern) Zheng's work at Hopkins. Will report back when I have some substantive results one way or another.

Please keep us up updated and best wishes for success.

Tincup, thanks. Did Dr B use this on himself? I recall someone like that did.

Hi Garnet10

We will share once we are confident it is a good protocol (The Goode Protocol). I think it would be a disservice otherwise. I can say this. We were very impressed with results after 1 cycle.

Tested positive at some point for Bart and Babs, but never had very high counts for either, but had the Bart streaks. Streaks are mostly gone and think the Babs is too. So we felt it was time to go after the Bb and knock it out. Go in for the kill so to speak. If Bart was still there, then the immune system should be improved after Bb gone and hopefully can finish off. Interesting enough, we have two meds that treat Babs. So we are hitting it at same time as Bb. Not known if pulsing would work for Babs.

Lalkay, I am starting to wonder if I really do have Lyme or not. I have seen no benefit on any of the antibiotic regimens I have tried so far.

Did you have any tests that were consistent with a retroviral infection?
