Hi -- does anyone know how a typical LLMD or how a typical holistic MD would treat this? (Not sure if they would handle the same or different.)

It says: "Many patients with SIBO have been treated with antibiotics for this condition without any lasting results.
You can see how this is problematic since antibiotics are one of the biggest causes of SIBO in the first place!
Healing from SIBO is absolutely possible, but it requires a comprehensive approach that involves restoring digestive function,
eliminating excess bacteria, avoid problem foods, and replenishing the gut with beneficial bacteria."

My functional med doc had me take colloidal silver. Then I switched over to berberine, neem and oregano oil.
I added in one tbsp of sauerkraut juice per day after the infection came down a bit. You will know if you take too much, too soon. I also did well with raw, hard cheese, which is a fermented product, too.
I built up to a shot of sauerkraut juice, beet kvass, or kimchi juice every day. After a few months, I added in a soil based probiotic. Other probiotics still don't agree with me and make me fatigued.
I've also cut out all grains and for some time even grain-like foods (quinoa). The paleo/ketogenic type diet really helped heal my gut. Now I can eat some non-grain "grains" and I'm fine.
I still have to be careful about too many raw veggies, like salads, etc.

Thank you everybody.
Question for 6goofy -- this "sauerkraut juice" ... I saw it mentioned on one of the websites referenced above ... what is this ... is it just if you would buy or make sauerkraut, the liquid in the bottle?

MichaelTampa, yes, that is exactly what it is. I found it bottled without the sauerkraut. Sometimes I couldn't find it so would use kvass or kimchi juice instead. I still cannot tolerate the sauerkraut itself.

I see, interesting ... looks like stores in my area carry this brand, but only the kraut, not the gut shots.
I had made sauerkraut myself for a while, and also sometimes used store bought, but currently not taking them, tests as not a good idea.
I did run across "coconut water kefir" today, had read somewhere that could be good for SIBO, going to see how that works out.

I have taken those gut shots. I can get them when I'm in Florida, but not when I'm in Ohio, so in Ohio I buy kvass.
I can't handle coconut water kefir, it's WAY too much for my sensitive gut. I can't handle kefir or kombucha either. I had to start with only a tablespoon of the gut shots.
You have to work on killing bacteria, too, with SIBO. I killed stuff off for a couple months before I started with the gut shots. Otherwise, you just put more "good" bacteria in the wrong place.

Do you mind sharing where in Florida did you get them? I travel from time to time, so even if they are not in my area, I might be by there eventually.
As far as killing ... I see some use herbs, and some antibiotics ... and if there are other ideas I don't remember seeing them. What did you use and how would you rate it?

I didn't want to use abx so my functional med doc started me with colloidal silver. After a few weeks with that, I switched to neem, berberine, and oregano oil. This protocol seemed to do the trick. I was diagnosed with SIBO back in Jan ... the only one of these I'm still on is the neem.
I bought the gut shots from Earth Origins (they have several locations). They stopped carrying them though, so I started buying the kimchi shots they carry. Whole Foods (in Ohio) carries the gut shots but only the pickle version so I buy beet kvass.
In your travels, I'd just pop into a healthy type grocery and check out what they carry.

I see, yes, we have Earth Origins where I am, and I understand they are around, but yet, seemingly they do not carry that now.
I am curious about the neem. I have heard generally it is one of those bug-killers, but don't hear too much use of it. Really, I hear more about it related to gardening. Could you share what product you used, if you remember?
