I have just read some info from Dr B about this probiotic on another forum. It is dairy-free and what is new about it is that it contains spores that only activate when ingested, so this does away with the worry of refrigeration or that the bacteria may be dead on arrival. Dr B seems quite happy with it.

SBOs are great and I think the research will be increasingly positive. Their web site seems a little dodgy. They cite a Dutch study against long term antibiotics. This shows they don't know what they are talking about (refer to the National Guideline Clearinghouse for Lyme treatment). The link to the study is broken (don't give broken links on your home page of all places!), but it is obviously bad science. People on long term antibiotics stand to benefit the most from SBOs since they tend to be antibiotic resistant. It boggles my mind why they would want to counter long term antibiotic treatment to sell probiotics. I would stay away until they are more credible.

Dr B is normally vg and has used this himself, so it may be worth giving a go.
