Welcome to Lymenet!

Band 23 is Lyme-specific and IgM shows a current infection. One of the top Lyme-literate doctors explains the different bands in the following link:

Dr. C's Western Blot Explanation
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/42077

"In my clinical experience, if a patient has symptoms suspicious for Borreliosis, and has one or more of the following bands, there is a very high probability the patient has Borreliosis.

These bands are 18, 22, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 39, 41, 83, and 93."

RMSF is one of the co-infections of Lyme. Read about Lyme co-infections in this link:

https://www.lymedisease.org/lyme-basics/co-infections/about-co-infections/

Your husband needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

LLMDs are far and few between, unfortunately. He needs to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of-state to get proper treatment.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/ArizonaLyme/info

Maybe they can help. They would know better about AZ.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
http://whatislyme.com/websites-and-support-groups-by-state/
www.azlyme.org

http://www.lymenet.org/SupportGroups/UnitedStates/Arizona/

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Lyme tests can be false negatives. They are a confirmation of exposure, diagnosis is clinical based on symptoms.

I'd find another doctor (you can post in seeking doctor for recommendations) if he felt bad as soon as he got off abx.

Is it Lyme? Could be. He'd need a full workup by a doctor knowledgable in treating Lyme.

Get to a ilads LLMD

They will help

.
.
I thought I had Lyme and maybe a couple co-infections
Like most people

But if I didn't get to a LLMD ilads this year
I wouldn't ever know
I had ..late stage Lyme disease and 6-7 coinfections
One of them being Rocky Mountain spotted fever
.
.
Funny I never had no symptoms for years , no rash , no fever ,never seen ever a tick on me , no bulls eyes rash ...., until one day out of the blue it all just hit me last year

.
So yes get to a LLMD ilads
Nothing to fool around with

.
.
Hi there thanks for any info
Or if I could help in any way
Let me know

Hi

Also I have previously taken up to 4 Regular Lyme test
(Elisa test) even bought one Elisa test online
Always came back negative for Lyme
Told by all doctors I don't have Lyme at all
I believed them , and only got worse and worse
Dumb me ...it's so complicated all this information

I Even took the Western Blot other Lyme test , that came back negative for Lyme aswell

These test the regular doctors give you will hardly come back positive for Lyme
If you have Late Stage Lyme disease
.

Which means you got bit ..years years ago and never knew the tick was on you , seen no rash , no symptoms , nothing

Til one day it just comes roaring up out of you

You need to see a Ilads LLMD and get the IGENEX test
Yes I was skeptical
Bigtime
After all the run around with the regular doctors
But now I feel I am getting somewhere with these nasty lil buggers of bacterias.. yikes
.
.

Even RMSF can go chronic .. so either way, you need a GOOD LLMD to get him well.

Sunflower, it looks like you forgot to give us the last result on his test. You wrote:

Lyme AB Igm by WB p23

but you didn't say present or absent for this one. What did it say for the IgM p23? That is an important band.
