Hi all! Long story short, I had an emergency appendectomy very early Thursday morning.

There was some fluid around the appendix so I was administered Flagyl and another antibiotic via IV in the hospital and sent home with Keflex.

Since coming home, my feet are swelling slightly, I've had some dizziness and my anxiety is high (high anxiety has always been one of my biggest Lyme symptoms).

The aches and pains are to be expected. I also have heavy heart pounding (I have tachycardia and MVP as well).

Could the Flagyl be causing a herx for me or is it possibly a reaction to the surgery, anesthesia or a combination? I'm looking for anyone with any experience on this.

I don't want to call the surgeon unnecessarily as I'm thinking this is tied into Lyme.

Anyone with advice or experience would be greatly appreciated just so I know I haven't lost my last thread of sanity. Having this done was shock enough. :-)

Could be a herx, always hard to know isn't it?!

My wife had an appendectomy earlier this year and they had her on flagyl. She felt so horrible on it, I was really getting worried. She has since been diagnosed with Lyme as well, and our doc thinks it was a herx.

That's my limited experience. (: Hope you feel a little better soon!
