Hello, this is my first entry on this forum. Over a year ago we had a bird mite infestation in our home. My neighbor, myself and the man who removed the bird's nest all had bird mites for several months. It seemed like we had become the bird mites new hosts. This lasted for several months.

It was a very, very difficult time as nothing seemed to help get rid of them. Apparently they don't bother most people more than 3 weeks so the medical world was not helpful.

When that finally subsided I noticed that I still had biting and crawling sensations. Most of the biting is on my toes and some, more mild biting on my fingertips.

I was tested positive for Lyme Disease but the Lyme doctor told me I had Morgellons Disease because of the small grain- like things coming out of my pores.

I've been on antibiotics since June. After about a month on them, almost all the biting and crawling sensation stopped. The only symptom was grit-like "sand" in the tub after I bathe.

I started weaning myself off the antibiotics but then the biting and crawling sensations came back , so now I am back on the meds. Is anyone having any similar experiences or does anyone else have morgellons? I am try to collect data on this strange phenomenon.

(breaking up the paragraph for easier reading for many here)

We have a fellow who sometimes posts on here. He has Morgellon's. Hopefully, he will come along and talk with you.

It is going to take more than just 2-3 months of antibiotics to get rid of this.

He can tell you lots more. He is on about month 5 of treatment I believe.

Hang in there. It gets better, but it is not a quick fix.

Hi Butterfly7,

I have morgellons since July 2016 and am on treatment since late April thanks to TF and lookup. I can say with confidence that 3 or 4 months of antibiotic treatment isn't enough to get rid of the internal issues. Sending you a pm with some useful links to manage the skin issues. Feel free to ask questions here or in pm.

Jory

Butterfly, we will help you here all we can.

The best thing you can do for yourself now is to educate yourself on lyme disease and Morgellon's..

The best document to read for lyme disease is here:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

Dr. Burrascano was THE lyme disease pioneer and was the most successful lyme doctor on the planet when he was practicing. They came from every country in the world to be treated by him.

So read and STUDY this document to get your education on lyme disease. Then, you will understand treatment and how to know when you are finished with treatment, what good treatment looks like, and to expect monthly flares and herxheimer reactions when you are on effective treatment.

You are not alone!
