I have started walking again. but I get really bad leg cramps like knots. I'm trying to do a mile every day six days a week.

at 220 and five feet im really out of shape. well if you consider round a shape.

one knot is behind my right knee and it hurts. I keep rubbing it. it feels deeper and not like a charlie horse.

maybe I need more mag but my legs are killing me.

Congratulations on the daily walking. It's the best exercise - walking is what we're built to do!

I just wanted to let you know that leg cramps are a symptom of low ferritin. Keep in mind, ferritin can be low even when iron levels are normal. And then there's controversy about where the ferritin level should actually be for good health, but I won't go into that otherwise this post will get too long.

You could try some high iron food for a while and see if it makes a difference. Liver ...

Wow .. I never heard that. I do have low ferritin, but I always thought my cramps were related to low magnesium.

Thanks for the info!

Randi .. make sure you are also drinking plenty of water and getting enough salt in your diet.
