Hi ctcalyme. [hi]

Really sorry your daughter and you have to deal with this.

All I can comment on is my experience with IVIG.
Everyone is different.

My IVIG is insurance covered because I have CVID (common variable immune disorder.) I went to an immunologist and had my immune status panel done. These include IGG subclasses:
IGG 1
IGG 2
IGG 3
IGG 4

Some Lyme patients have severe immune system problems.
This is a way to get insurance coverage.

i get IVIG once a month. It takes 3 hours at my home. I just finished month 8. After month 6, felt so much better. I take an alka selzer gold before infusion. I get a headache and extreme fatigue and have to take a nap afterward.

Then I get a burst of energy. Haven't had a cold or flu since but bad allergies. (always had those).

It is not a magic bullet. It's part of a protocol that takes time to heal the body. Gradually improvement should be expected. At the 6 month mark, you will see positive gains.

Will it help ? I say yes. Good luck Lyme warrior.

[hi] Bartenderbonnie!

Thank you so much for your reply. We are in the process of finding out about insurance so thank you for that information.

Her Dr.'s think she will feel better in 3 months. It's already been a long road, but we will get her there.

Thanks!

Also,
Utilize the search button on top page. Type in IVIG. So much valuable information to be had.

Lymenet saved my life, and many others. I love lymenet. They are very special human-beings. We all help each other. Through the ups and downs, good and bad. We are strength in numbers.

Hopefully other members with IVIG experience will chime in also. Blessings.

Well the one side effect, especially for the 1st couple of treatments is "severe migranes". When they say this rarely happens don't believe them. Take the steroid to mitigate and drink plenty of fluids.

good luck.
