Our two youngest kiddos are on a 30 day treatment of azythromycin for a mycoplasma Pneumonia infection. We are going to do IGeneX testing for them and we're trying to determine if they should finish their 30 day course of antibiotics and then wait a certain period of time before we do the IGeneX testing. I've gotten conflicting information regarding this and just trying to make sure that we get the best possible results we can.

Call and talk with the people at IGenex diretly. If you have a LLMD, also ask them and ask them the best lab to do the draw. Some are better than others.

Just be sure that it's also early in the week and not too late in the day.

It's always been stated to wait at least 2 weeks after doing antibiotics. Also it is best to test after doing a course of antibiotics because the bacteria are said to be more active.

So hopefully you will get as good of test as possible. Never depend on just blood tests.

Are you testing for Lyme or the myco plasma?

Pam

Our NP talked with IGeneX and they said the testing could be done at any time.

Okay, thank you for the input! We are testing for Lyme and co-infections. They have already tested positive for some IgG bands, but not CDC positive.
