I've been taking Pure Encapsulations brand resveratrol for close to 10 years.
Recently they started using some other source for this product, it's completely different, and I cannot tolerate it. I have a very bad gut, and most foods and supps cause all kinds of problems -- gut problems, but also brain stuff, fatigue, depression, insomnia, and an exacerbation of normal syx, like muscle pain, cramps etc. -- autoimmune type stuff.
I called Pure for help twice, left messages, but so far they have not gotten back to me. I just want to find out the source of the original, and where to get it.
I have been off of the resveratrol now for about a month, and am losing function. I'm not sure if this is from dropping the resveratrol, but it seems like it probably is (though I can never tell for sure about anything).
The old stuff, that I tolerated, was a deep brown, almost reddish brown color, and had a very earthy smell. The new stuff is sort of pale yellow, a baby-poop color, and has a completely different taste, smell, everything is completely different. It's made my ankles go into terrible spasms (not herxes, as these exact spasms can be provoked by many foods).
My question: Does anyone know of any brands of resveratrol / knotweed that are like that reddish-brown stuff that I tolerated? Also where to get it? Capsules or powder is fine.
Thanks in advance. I am really worried about this loss of function, as I don't have a lot of room to go down as I am already dwelling in the sub-basement -- already pretty terrible.
I have no idea where to begin to research this.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Yes, that is the same color. I screwed up in my original post, however -- I forgot to mention that it needs to be from knotweed, all knotweed, with no grape skins.
Interesting you mention GreenDragon, I was wondering about that brand. Thanks for letting me know it's the ochre color. It's probably the same as what Pure is using now.
For a while, I was getting Plum Flower brand, loose powder, and it was the deep reddish-brown stuff, and it was good. I tolerated it well. Then they too switched their source -- it was still brown, but a duller lighter color, and the taste was more bland, not as sharp, and the texture, instead of silky, was gritty.
I was able to tolerate it, but it didn't seem to work, and when I went back to the Pure Encapsulations I was able to notice a substantial difference. I really wish they hadn't switched this product. Whenever you find something that helps, it seems they go and mess with it! Also, the new stuff costs much more, so that's great too!

No, believe it or not Pure has not called back. I know, shocking! Ha-ha.
I have been looking around at different products, but it's tough to figure what each one is made up of. And at the cost of these things, a (broke) person can be out hundreds of dollars using trial and error before hitting on the right one.
I was hoping someone here would be using a product that would be the same or similar. With all the folks using Buhner's various herbs, I figured someone would either know, or have gone through the same thing.

Tincture has worked best for me. Especially if you have gut issues. Buy or pick some knotweed and make some. It's cheap, easy and so much better than eating a pile of capsules or tablets of ground up root.

Regarding ground up root: I haven't read about this in a while ... but I thought the roots were what we wanted. No?
Either way, I wish I could do that, pick knotweed and make a tincture. I don't know that my gut would tolerate a tincture, but making it does sound fun.
