Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,

My tendon issues are acting up, especially wrist, wondering if it is Bart',Babs' LD, or meds I've had to take [floxison ?sp?].

Don't really know what I am still fighting? Which bugs... doing an elimination diet after Easter for a few days.

Still fighting rash issues, as well, as tendon issues and achey-ness.

It wouldn't surprise me if MCAS/D was part of the issue w/ rashes and lots of allergies.

But I am curious about the tendonitis flare up...?

When I think of tendonitis, I think first of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic family -- Ciprofloxacin, Levaquin, etc.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Just for fun, here's a link to a simple Google search, followed by another link to an interesting PubMed article found via that same Google search.
https://www.google.com/?client=safari&channel=mac_bm

Oh, oh -- not again! Time to reboot my computer, I guess, because it's not allowing me to post the link to the PubMed abstract.

Anyhow, the PubMed # is: 23986790

Here's a copy of the PubMed abstract though:

Lyme Borreliosis, or Lyme's disease, manifests itself in numerous skin conditions.

Therapeutic intervention should be initiated as soon as a clinical diagnosis of erythema migrans is made.

The histopathology of some of the skin conditions associated with Lyme Borreliosis is characterised by structural changes to collagen, and sometimes also elastic fibres. These conditions include morphea, lichen sclerosus et atrophicus and acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans. More recently, further skin conditions have been identified by the new microscopic investigation technique of focus floating microscopy: granuloma annulare, necrobiosis lipoidica, necrobiotic xanthogranuloma, erythema annulare centrifugum, interstitial granulomatous dermatitis, cutaneous sarcoidosis and lymphocytic infiltration; these conditions also sometimes cause changes in the connective tissue.

In the case of ligaments and tendons, collagen and elastic fibres predominate structurally. They are also the structures that are targeted by Borrelia.

The resultant functional disorders have previously only rarely been associated with Borreliosis in clinical practice.

Ligamentopathies and tendinopathies, spontaneous ruptures of tendons after slight strain, dislocation of vertebrae and an accumulation of prolapsed intervertebral discs as well as ossification of tendon insertions can be viewed in this light.

My Comment:
So it sounds to me as if your guess about it, Dear SilverLady, is correct -- that your tendonitis flare-up is probably a result of Lyme.

Hi <<<<< TX Lyme Mom >>>>>,

Kinda what I figured, thanx for the info' and the tho'ts!

Since last summers heart surgery, things have been acting up, It was a huge and sudden stress. It doesn't take much stress, to flare up LD and Co's.

Also figure that the heart issue was likely caused by the Lyme and Co's.Hard to prove with the labs they depend on here in LV NV [Lab Corp doesn't believe Lyme can go chronic].

Thanx again for the comment, and Happy Easter Happy Spring!!!

Hello Silver and Happy Easter!

Surgery can stir up a whole lot of our issues with the stress it puts on our body. Sorry to hear about the increase in symptoms.

I had a lot of wrist tendon pain pre-dx. Specifically De'Quarvains, in the tendon sheath. One surgery and 6 cortisone injections between both hands.

I still had a lot of tendon pain after all that. Early Lyme tx of doxy and tinidazole helped some, more than the shots had. When I did a first round of ivermectin and pyrantel pamoate for parasites (around 6-8 weeks after Lyme dx) the wrist pain flared awful then completely went away.

So for me it was surely Lyme, possibly with some parasitic involvement.

They found a lot of calcification when they did the surgery, from the constant inflammation. The body was trying to heal, but couldn't clear it and dropped calcium in the area.

If I could go back, I'd have greatly increased my vitamin K2, it directs body to put calcium in bones and teeth rather than deposit in soft tissues. Most cardiac patients are deficient in K2, something to consider unless Coumadin/warfarin being used (which severely depletes K2 even further).

I would also have tried systemic enzymes to prevent/break down calcification in areas of inflammation. Systemic enzymes are potent anti-inflammatories on their own too.

Enzymes can also cause symptoms and die-off reactions due to disrupting biofilm.

I like the Wobenzym-N formula, but Vitacost has their generic version which is much cheaper, especially if you can catch it on sale in the big bottle. I like to add serrapeptase and nattokinase to this too, as they work together synergistically.

Some people get good results from chewing bromelain tablets on an empty stomach. Another option are the "Pancreas" capsules made by Allergy Research Group or Nutricology.

Enzymes should be taken on empty stomach for systemic effects. They can have blood thinning effects, so should use under doctor's advice if on any other blood thinners, aspirin, etc.

I hope your flares settle down soon and the wrist pain gets better for you.

Turmeric is helpful to many, can mix with milk and a pinch of pepper ("Golden milk/tea") or take curcumin capsules.

Also if in a legal state medical cannabis, there are strains that work well for all kinds of pain and inflammatory conditions that won't put one over the moon. For many it's good for Lyme and a lot of other stuff in general.

Hi <<<<< gz >>>>>,

I have De Quearvains tendonitis [sp.?] in my right wrist, thumb is numb right now.

I take K2 and a form of Turmeric/Curcumin now, the K2 is supposed to help my body's calcium level stay right, and the calcium go where it is supposed too.

I have to be somewhat careful, I have a very long list of allergies, that has worsened, Food/herbs, and medications/ABX.

I do take some enzymes, and after my 'Elimination Diet this week,I may have to find some more.

I appreciate the info' greatly! Thank You,and Happy Easter to You as Well!!!
