Dear Lymenet,

I am a member of this site, which honestly was instrumental in saving my young daughters life in 2006. We found Dr. J in CT who guided her back to a normal healthy life after three long years of treatment. My College age son, in 2009, would then contract Lyme meningitis and again I looked to this site for guidance.

Little did I know that tragedy would hit my family in the most unimaginable way this past week. My sister whom I believe was also a member of this site, took her life, due to the grief on watching her 18 year old daughter suffer horribly from Lyme.

We have asked that donations from family and friends be made to LYMENET.org. I would imagine that many donations have been coming in and will continue to come in.

Family and friends are asking if those donations will get acknowledged back to the sender? If not, can we can possibly handle the acknowledgment of those donations?

Can you please let me know how this is handled?

lymedesign,

My sympathies to you and your family for having gone through, and continue to go through, the devastation that Lyme has caused your family.

May the good memories you have of your sister bring you peace during this difficult time.

To think of LymeNet during, what is possibly, the worst time in your life undoubtedly demonstrated your selfless and gracious character.

With whatever form of donation that is made, as long as there is some kind of contact information provided, the person making the donation will receive an acknowledgement in return.

Thank you for thinking of LymeNet!

In Sympathy,
