I have been increasing with the "nerve shocks" over some time, but have noticed even more in the last couple of weeks. just found out today that the electric co. changed my meter out back to a pulsating one! and so
this may be why the increase? BUT.... also today I am havin gthe worst trigeminal neuralgia episode in my face. it is such severe pain that Im so afraid it will return, but.... at
at same time I am having tons and tons of the electric shocks (neuropathies I've always called them) all over my body. I mean everywhere. and at times it is so intense it feels like liquid ice is dripping down my skin.
the other clincher is- I had an MRI this morning. I googled MRI and EMR and is does have RF pulsing which is electromagnetic wave. so now what???/
I cannot bare this pain of trigeminal neuralgia. it is every time I chew. and it goes all over my face and I feel the nerves flashing into ever tooth on the right wide of my face.
do I need to see a neorologist???? what if I have a tumor or something? I know it says people with lyme or MS can get this , but why does everything I have so hard to get help for???

Sorry to hear this. Nerve pain is horrible. My mother has TN. She has to take Tegratol (sp?). She doesn't have Lyme. The Teg really helps her.

If all of these things worsened after you had the change in electric meter, I would be suspicious that there is a connection, too.
Would it be possible to request that they remove the new meter and replace with the old? You can also buy protective shields to prevent some of the pulses from affecting you in the house.
In the meantime, you might get some relief from cranial sacral work and acupuncture. Both have provided some temporary relief for my TN.

So sorry that you're in pain. I definitely recommend seeing a great neurologist who has experience with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Best wishes to you xoxo

I went to chiropractor today and she helped a bit but not enough. I called the dentist and they insist it could not have been from the needle.
I called 3 neurologists office and one specializes in TN, but the wait is mid August. the other is also at a top hospital for neurology but not TN specialist specifically, but thinking of going to her since she can also look into my other neuro sx??
the 3rd # I called was the horrible local dr office in neurology I'd seen in the past with no help (and bad drs) because im desperate to get something to kill pain. they said they could see me tomorrow morning with the PA. I don't like her
and my copay is $75 and since I already spent over $300 this week on medical visits, Im a bit leary , ugh. but if the meds can take this pain!!!
susank, yes it would be Tegretol or Trileptal- and that is what the hip dr told me also in this morning's appointment with him. the only thing is - it is a anti siesure med, so it sounds so dangerous to me- should I be concerned? I really just want the pain gone.

lymetoo, I DID take some boswelia, but I cannot remember what day I took it. I tried a couple days and felt "funny" so I stopped, but do you think its from that???? how can it do this?????

lymetoo, I had a filling done in a tooth right where the majority of this pain is sitting- dentist shot me with a needle to fill the tooth. that tooth is so 'hot' today as in such pain.
I do notice when I push on that tooth my tinnitus gets much worse!
What if dentist didn't get enough rot out and it infected in there- could that cause this??? the dental office said no, but I dont trust anyone

The PA today told me (neurology PA) that TN cannot be casue by lyme- it can only be from something pushing on nerve like a tumor.
but I have ready numerous reports on line that say otherwise

I was diagnosed with severe tmj. I had a custom made splint made. I wore it initally 24 hours a day then only at night. I wore holes right through them and ended up having them replaced every couple of years.
I had stabbing facial, eye, jaw plain. severe twitches that jerked my face. it really hurt.

PS .. Some of us get very weird symptoms from salicylates. It is not fun. I even get nerve pain from them.

I called the dentist this morning- GOD PLEASE let it be a tooth issue!!! I cannot stand this pain!!!!! dentist said to come monday morning for an xray. It is def not TMJ.
I hope I make it til monday

I went to dentist. I thought it was giong to be an apt. with a discount since I think it was their fault they might have missed something that I had brought to their attention more than once- my tooth pain, etc
but they charged me $200. im so pissed off .
so he says that he "thinks" its an abscess. well ok. he said my tooth is dead so it has to be an abscess. there was a small open dark area above the roots shown up on the xray.
so if it is an abscess how do I know they won't screw it up and make the TN pain worse? I never had a root canal. iim so scared. and what if its not infected and they do the root canal for nothing!?

missvic, you are right. so much work all the time, I am so tired. and broke.
I was thinking if I take the abx dentist gave me and then go to surgeon he'll probably re xray? and then if the black area is gone and my pain is gone then it's def. from that?

so i read about dead teeth and all this. I guess it has to be made into a root canal. but I think the dr caused it or it may heave been save-able since he negated my sx. makes me so mad. and now once again someone is left to pick up pieces AND pay for the mistake that wasn't theirs- me!

You may want to check some of the older posts from TF who is now symptom free. Trimengal neuralgia was one of her worst symptoms and she got it while on ineffective lyme treatment. Once she changed LLMD's who followed more of an aggressive, Dr. Burrascano protocol it went away.

I been searching for new better dentist. I think I found one. yes, cannot believe this happened, but then again, yes. just like lyme crap. and another reason making wish id gone to medical school!!!
bcb, I have been considering my past lyme & co tx and I have made a call to a "top" doc. LLMD. hopefully get in soon as im on waiting list. hope its worth the wait!

Lisa -- this may be more of a suggestion for inflammation than straight-up pain, but Solgar makes a product called Curcumin Full-Spectrum Complex that is absorbed at a phenomenal rate, something like 85 times the original dose of 40mg; one capsule a day is the herbal equivalent of at least ibuprofen, if not something stronger; partial help is better than no help. -- GVS

so........... I went to neurologist and (PA) put me on gabapentin. did I talk about this alread?? sorry if so! it helped my pain almost immedately, but it also made me very loopy and almost falling over, so I cut back my dose and while I still had reaction like that it was much less and I was sort of able to function.
The crazy thing was--this medication also took all my anxiety away!!! and reduced my hot flashes that accompany my anxiety attacks to an extremely low %. I hadn't felt that good in forever! but... I then looked up this drug and found it causes a lot of sudden death in people over a certain age with autoimmune disease.
that is no good
so I got another opinion from a neuro dr who told me to stop the gabapentin immediately. right after that my anxiety and crazy feelings came back with a huge bang. it was hellish.
I thought, GABA, GABApentin and sure enough found via my genetic guy that it alters the glutamate thereby vamping up gaba and there you have it. I wish so badly that I could tollerate that drug. oh well. it did however , I thinkk, give me enough of a jolt to my system to even out my anxiety and other sx.
at least I would like to think so. I also found out that MAST issues are exasperated by heat and exercise and this is why I feel like a train wreck after my very easy ballet class or even walking the dog!
as far as my tooth goes- I have now had 2 runs of Z-pack and my cheek/gum pain is coming back! so now I am freaking out becasue I know a root canal can be iffy. im trying to remain ++. I have apt. with the endodontist tomorrow. I did NOT get the MRI (yet).
