I have been on bactrim about a week now and was doing fine on it, until about 5 days in when I got mild nausea, and then I started running low grade fevers. The fevers are something that have happened on and off for about 2 years now, and are something I don't know the cause of, so this isn't specifically new, but it is currently flaring.

I now have severe nausea, so much so my doc gave me a script for something to help with it, and I ache all over. I am not hungry at all, and then randomly at the end of the day I will be super hungry.

I also feel out of it and more foggy, like I can't function, and I was having a hard time functioning to begin with.

A good few of my issues are side effects of bactrim, and I have read that it was really bad for a lot of people.

Thoughts?

Hey T,

I can't say what it is, but a herx would be a possibility.

I know it is almost impossible for me to distinguish a herx from other things and I've been doing this on and off for over 30 years.

I've since learned the one little clue that helps is my eyes are a bit painful and itch. When that happens to me I then know I'm herxing.

On another note...

Be sure you eat a full meal just before taking meds or even supplements.

If your doc isn't thinking about an allergic reaction or side effect, that would make me feel better.

Here is some herx info you can review if you'd care to.

Hope you do feel better soon!
