I developed severe peeling of my palms and fingers about a week ago. went to dermatologist, didn't know what it was but put me on steroid crème, did nothing, actually maybe a little worse.
I am only taking ababs. Sent email to llmd. got reply not related to ababs.
Anyone have an idea what this could be?
thanks for any input.

Years ago my palms peeled. They're also red and warm along with the soles of my feet (not peeling). I never knew what caused it and it only happened once.
Along with Lyme and Co. I also have Mycoplasma.
Hope this helps.

Lin,
Does it look like the pictures here where it shows 3 palms? You have to scroll down a good bit to see them. Above it says this..
Below: White scale-like, flaky rashes on the palms of hands sometimes preceded by small "bumps" appearing from under the skin. Lyme and Morgellons patients have reported these manifestations.

thank you for sending me this link, however, it did not look like mine. Mine started two weeks ago when my hands and fingers started to itch like crazy. she put me on some sort of steroid crème. itching stopped. then this severe flaking, peeling of the palms and fingers started a week ago. It looks better today but not gone. I am not on doxy at the moment. So weird., but hey, I have had a lot of weird stuff this year. I tested positive for bands 34, 41 and 58 and positive for babesia duncani. Do I definitely have lyme with these bands?

my llmd said only band 34 means I was exposed to lyme not necessarily have lyme right now. she wants to retest through igenex in a few weeks and see if any pcr's come up positive. why?

I have not been tested for ebv, mycoplasma, nothing else which I think is very strange. My daughter had chronic neuro lyme back 15 years ago and it took five years of med's to get her life back., but she had every test there was out there. I am using the same doctor now. She told me last week she is not convinced that I have lyme or anything else related.

My palm peeling didn't look like that either. My fingers and palms just started peeling similar to a sunburn peel. My skin came off in little strips. I don't know what caused it and it only happened the one time.
I was positive for EBV too.

just a quick update. Yesterday I looked at the bottoms of my feet, yuk, they are peeling also, very badly. What the heck is going on? Going to a new dermatologist in a week. The old one doesn't know what it is or why. Ok all these weird symptoms and no one has an answer.

Don't know why you would waste time and effort going to another dermo?
This is coming from the inside out on you. Peeling hands and feet in the chronic illness world of Lyme & co is fairly common.
It's also common in the strep world also. Hopefully you are only going to shed this one time, but some folks have the peeling of hands and feet for some time.
Lyme & co will reactivate many viruses in your body. Some of these viruses you have had lying quietly in you for years and years. Sometimes with these illnesses we easily pick up new viruses that a healthy immune system would have fight off. Not in our world!
Going to more doctors for new symptom that comes up is called another stressor. Especially if it's not a life threat. Try using the search button on this site to look up symptoms. It's just a relief to find others describing their crazy symptoms as yours.
Linda, you are finding out just how frustrating it can be to visit doctors that really have no clue what is going on in our body. All they know is what they know. Not much!
