looking mostly for a multimineral for post / chronic Lyme Disease body reconstruction and maintenance.
I like to get my nutrients from foods but now have severe tendon pain in the R Achilles and moderate in the L that is 70% better with Epsom salt baths twice a day.
so I think I really do have deficiencies now, despite a diet high in veg and fruit as well as bone broth, meat, eggs, dairy, etc.
Have others with Lyme found a good multimineral that is absorbed well and contains a lot of what we need?
I got ReMag and it is wonderul mixed with my water, but I worry about supplementing too much with just one thing. Maybe more balance is needed?
also a good multivitamin or B-complex would be appreciated, if you have any tips
how do you know you have taken too much or when you need to take more??
Thanks so much!

- I prefer to use real food sources that have lots of good nutrients all in one & various good benefits:

My favorite B vitamin is Source of Life Garden by Nature's Plus. It has all whole foods in it, and it seemed to absorb much better than the normal B supplements.

I use Thorne multi mineral. I use a magnesium spray, but not all the time because I forget. I eat three cups of greens per day to get my b vitamins and other nutrients because I do prefer to get nutrients from food.

I buy Magnesium Aspartate and Glycinate in bulk powder form from purebulk.com or bulksupplements.com, as well as Potassium Aspartate.
The Aspartate form of magnesium agrees with me during the day, and the Glycinate form agrees with me before bed, because it makes me relaxed and drowsy and helps me sleep.
I buy Calcium Citrate-Malate from pforlife.com, also in bulk powder form.
I use these pure, binder- and filler-free mineral powders to make my own macromineral mix that I tweak on a daily basis, in terms of my changing need for magnesium and my changing morning urinary pH.

P.S. -- some things I forgot to mention in my first post:
The forms of minerals that are absorbed best are orotates, which are expensive and have low concentrations of elemental minerals, and aspartates, which are cheaper and have higher concentrations of elemental minerals.
For zinc and potassium, which are taken in small quantites, I take the orotate forms. For magnesium, I mostly take the aspartate form. For calcium, I take the Citrate Malic form, which has superior absorption.
Minerals are better absorbed if taken after meals, especially calcium.
How much oxidative stress someone is experiencing determines their need for magnesium because oxidative stress pulls magnesium out of cells and encourages calcium to rush in to cells.
Magnesium and calcium have opposite effects in the body. The former relaxes, energizes, and speeds bowel tranit time. The latter, although definitely needed, can cause headaches and body aches if taken in excess, and slows bowel transit time.
Because I have a lot of oxidative stress, my need for magnesium is high, and I take magnesium and calcium in a one to one ratio. Someone with less oxidative stress may have less of a need for magnesium and may be able to take magnesium and calcium in the traditional ratio of one to two.
Potassium energizes and reduces pain, especially nerve pain, but can be toxic if too much is taken.
Here is the mineral mix I take a double dose of four times a day:
Magnesium L-Aspartate powder, 250 mg. (from purebulk.com) Calcium Citrate Malate powder, 250 mg. (from pforlife.com) Potassium Orotate, 100 mg. (from bulksupplements.com) Zinc Orotate, in divided doses, 50 mg. total for the entire day (from bulksupplements.com)
I'm careful not to take more than 50 mg. of zinc a day, which can be toxic in large doses. Because zinc can irritate the stomach I take it in small divided doses throughout the day. The ratio of two parts potassium to five parts magnesium should not be exceeded because too much potassium can also be toxic in large doses.
Although taking these minerals in the powder form does take some time to measure out, the powder forms are much cheaper than buying minerals in capsules and save me a lot of money. With time and practice, the habit of measuring out my minerals for the day has become routine. It takes about ten minutes, and is well worth it.
Without using minerals to maintain a desirable body pH -- between 6.5 and 7.5 measured in the first morning's urination -- the body will not make the digestive enzymes necessary to digest food, the body will not hold on to minerals, the body will not hold on to protein, and anyone with significant immune system problems is unlikely to heal. For further information on the importance of pH, visit supernutrient.com's webpage about their Platinum Plus amino acid product, which explains the importance of pH. For a chart of acid of alkaline foods, visit Russel Jaffe's chart of acid and alkaline foods at https://www.drrusselljaffe.com/alkaline-food-chart/.

Yes, I love eggs and use pasture raised from Mom's Organic Market - so glad we have one within driving distance! I can taste and see the difference - I'll try to post the name of the egg producers later
They are about 7$ a box but the chickens are on pasture and the eggs are awesome - great taste, darker yolks
I love them soft boiled to preserve as much of the vitamins from overheating as possible
Thanks for the detailed answer, GVS!
Yes, I was wondering about overdosing or messing up important ratios.
I am dumping so much liquid ReMag in my water now and was going to get the multimineral from the same company but wonder if I can cause more problems by adding ionic minerals in excess amounts and what excess would be? normally? for me?

Harmony, just take the recommended dosage of their minerals. The ReMag is just magnesium. You need the other one to balance things.
