I would try OLE (Olive Leaf Extract), because it is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal.

Here is an older link on Lymenet with lots of information about OLE:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/115457?#000000

The Seagate brand has the highest concentration of oleuropein (active ingredient) in it. Our family uses it whenever someone comes down with any kind of respiratory infection (or stomach flu, for that matter!!!).

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with this company in any way.

I order it online, because it isn't always readily available locally. I also buy a different brand at my local health food store if I can't get it right away.

Hope this helps. God bless.

I had bronchitis a couple months ago. I found that slippery elm and marshmallow root are supposed to help. I also found out that bromelain and NAC are supposed to help loosen mucous.

I didn't try olive leaf, because I seem to be allergic to it.

I couldn't find any slippery elm bark at the health food store, but I was able to find a celestial seasonings brand tea with slippery elm in it. It seemed to help a lot.

This is the tea I bought.

Look into trying a salt inhaler.

Here are two of the earliest posts about it here at LymeNet, from 2005.

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/39678?

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/39763?

These posts pretty much explain what they are and how they work, but now you can buy salt inhalers from vendors on Amazon.
Plus, the prices have come WAYY down!

I have not had bronchitis at all since I got a salt pipe.
Walmart now carries them, as do drugstores.
